3.0 out of 5 stars It's okay.
This is what can be considered, for all intents and purposes, as Weasel's first serious album. And like many bands early efforts, it's half brilliant, half puerile. in terms of songwriting potential, they are totally there, but the way some of the songs come off is just juvenile. Buy this album if you are a Weasel fan and want to hear where they came from. If you don't...

5.0 out of 5 stars Standout Weasel album, November 26, 1999
This review is from: Boogada Boogada Boogada (Audio CD)
One of the Weasel's finest cd's. 26 tracks filled with nothing but excellent punk. I've owned this for about 2 years and it hasn't left my cd player yet! It has it's share of girl songs (Dingbat, Love, Supermarket Fantasy), and comical songs (Zombie, This Ain't Hawaii).

Standout tracks are: Dingbat, Love, Police Insanity, Stupid Over You, Runaway, My Right, Nicaragua, Sunshine, I Wanna Be Naked, and Hey Suburbia.

Get this album, stick it in your cd player and put it on repeat. Trust me, you won't wanna stop listening to it.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you had any brains at all I think you'd see . . ., May 12, 2007
This review is from: Boogada Boogada Boogada (Audio CD)
The second full length album by Chicago's own three chord heroes found them somewhere between their very derivative sounding first LP and the renowned lookout releases that followed it.

Fast, angry, topical and very funny, this album ranges in topics from used car salesmen, to overly serious political punks, to led zeppelin. It seems no one was safe from the constant barrage of criticism and mockery.

A great gateway drug for many fans of hardcore and pop punk alike. Take the dive, and soon you'll be in love with suburbia too.

5.0 out of 5 stars great record, September 9, 2004
This review is from: Boogada Boogada Boogada (Audio CD)
i would recommend this for your too cool punk friends, who think pop-punk sucks. the songs are silly and fast, in the style of the descendents and the ramones. once they love it, get them to listen to "my brain hurts," then they'll be hooked...

PS- I HATE LED ZEPPLIN

where to start, weasle is a sound that grows on you verry qquickly. the sound is fast but coherent and you can feel emotion behind what they are saying even though it wont always make sense at first. Sw are defiantly punk rock elite and this album shows that in every trak!

5.0 out of 5 stars If you don't like this one, get off the punk scene, November 25, 1998

This is my favorite album of all time. All the songs kick butt, and Ben totally rocks during this time. This album is post Ramones, but before everything else. A very good combo of great tunes to jam to.

5.0 out of 5 stars The next Punk-Pop band after the Descendents, May 28, 2004
By
"joethepunkrocker" (At the Computer, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Boogada Boogada Boogada (Audio CD)
Screeching Weasel, was the next band to be a major punk band, that would pick up where "Milo Goes To College" left off. Though, the descendents turned into a pop-punk then more, after "Milo..." this was the time when the band ALL was appearing more and more. So screeching took the liberty to play punk rock(old fashion style) and mix teenage issuses with it, and ben weasel and jughead created something that would be changing the world in '88.
As the tall goes at one of the concerts for the song "I wanna be naked" ben weasel took off his clothes, and french kissed someone from Lookout! Records. But anyways, all the songs are like the ADD version of the 3 chord johnny ramone style, while ben is singing as if he was about to die.
Though my favorite songs, would be "Hey Subrubia" "Love" "Supermarket Fantasy". Cause they all are done to perfection. In the end buy this album, understnd it, love it, but dont take your life story to it.
