Rare treasures, July 16, 2002

I loved the first "Boogie Traxx" compilation (it remains one of my favourite dance collections) and I am also enjoying the second compilation. Because this features mixes of songs, many of these remixes are very hard to find. In particular, the extended version of "Boogie Wonderland by Earth, Wind and Fire with the Emotions is impossible to find, as is the extended mix of the Emotions' own "Best of My Love", also featured here. I also love the mixes of "When Will I Be Famous" by Bros, "The Only Way Is Up" by Yazz (classic!) and I even like the mix of Vanilla Ice's "Ice Ice Baby" because it samples Queen's "Under Pressure" even more than the 7" version. Who can resist Swing Out Sister's "Breakout" or the extended mix of Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" which is more fun than the original? My only complaints about the CD are that the mixes of "Tell It To My Heart" (Taylor Dayne) and Kellie Marie's "Feels Like I'm In Love" sound like they were recently mixed, and are not the original 12" mixes, which is a shame since these are two great 80s classics.
But this package is still worth it. Boogie Traxx 3 please!
