This is the latest in a long line of classic Linda Gail Lewis albums. The first 12 songs are very much in the 'Jerry Lee Lewis at SUN' mould, & include covers of several of his songs, such as 'Old Black Joe', 'Fools Like Me', 'Am I To Be The One', etc. Other covers include Carl Perkins' 'Boppin' The Blues', Marty Stuart's 'Hillbilly Rock', Frankie Lymon's 'Goody Goody', & Sister Rosetta Tharpe's 'Strange Things Happening Every Day'.

The highlight of the album though are the six 'bonus' tracks. These are three-part harmony songs, backed only by an acoustic guitar, & credited to 'The Lewis 3'. 'The Lewis 3' are in fact Linda Gail Lewis with her daughters MaryJean McCall & Annie Marie Allgood. Look out for this act in the future, refreshingly different from anything else currently available!

I fully agree with Peter's review: The 6 bonus tracks are awesome! Just these 6 songs are worth buying the whole CD. What amazing harmonies. Can't get enough of them. You have to buy to believe it!
... and by the way the first 12 songs are splendid as well, in true Lewis style!
If you are looking for the last CD to buy: THIS IS IT!!!

Hi All!

I just want to say how much I love those awesome harmonies by The Lewis 3!!! My only complaint is that there's only 6 songs on the album by the group! When can we expect a full album???

I agree with the previous reviewers, this is an almost, unanimously 5 star album CD. It's totally 5 star in my opinion. This is a great, but hard to find, album CD, by Linda Gail Lewis, including 6 songs, by the "Lewis 3", which is Linda Gail and her 2 daughters, Annie Marie Dolan, & Mary Jean McCall. Linda Gail is from my home state of Louisiana. I've been to the Lewis Home, in Ferriday, Louisiana, many times. I've become good friends with Linda Gail's sister, Frankie Jean & her daughter Jerry. I've purchased several CD's from them, of both Jerry Lee & Linda Gail, but they did not have this one. So, fortunately, I found one on Amazon, and "Wow", do I love it!!!

This album contains some great "Boogie Woogie", Country, with Linda Gail playing the piano, and singing, pure "Boogie Woogie", style, especially on the song, "In The Boogie Woogie Country Mood". I guest it runs in the family. This album also contains some "traditional country", Linda Gail, style.

Finally, you get 6 bonus songs by the Lewis 3. As some of the other reviewers mentioned before, these songs contain some "Great", vocal harmonies, that "chime like a backwoods choir", as described by information in the liner notes.

I agree with the previous reviews, this is an almost unanimous 5 star album, and definitely a 5 star for me. I highly recommend it, if you can find on. Thanks!!!
