Spiritual & Uplifting.....,
By Kimiko Nishime (Okinawa, Japan) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Book of Affirmations (Paperback)
I have decided to write this review because I was truly astounded to read the couple of completely negative reviews regarding this book. I believe that the person, who I would like to point out is the only one that is "nameless", either didn't read the book or has absolutely no understanding of what an affirmation is and the powers they truly can have. This person has done a dis-service to the Author, Sharon Elaine, and I didn't want other potential readers turned away because of these reviews (which after reading I am positive are from the same individual). Therefore, I am writing the following:A friend gave me "The Book of Affirmations" as a gift shortly after my brother passed away. I was sinking fast and they said that the book had been a tremendous help to them and I should give it a try. To give you just a little background... my brother was only 35 and one of my best friends. It was a year ago today. This has been a hardship on my life that is indescribable. The fact that I am able to write a review about this time in my life should indicate to you how remarkable this book truly is. There were times I didn't think I could go on... times I felt I didn't want to... reading these most uplifting and spiritual affirmations kept me from going over the edge on many occasions. I carry the book with me wherever I go. If I feel myself slipping, I just take it out and read. Sometimes I go to specific areas within the book - sometimes I just open it and read. Either way, it has saved me on more than one occasion. Sharon Elaine truly has "A Gift from God" and I, for one, am grateful she has chose to share it with us - not only for myself, but for my husband and our three children.

Helpful book,

This review is from: Book of Affirmations (Paperback)
This is an easy book to use, as it has all kinds of subjects for the affirmations. I think it's helpful. I've been down lately, and repeating these sentences has helped my attitude a lot.

Caring for others . . .,
By A Customer
This review is from: Book of Affirmations (Paperback)
begins with caring for the self. Sharon's book is a delightful reminder that we cannot do our best work in this world if we are not fully-fortified and confident about our abilities to move in and upon it. Laid out in a way that recognizes that we don't always have the time we need to regroup during a busy day and allows the reader to quickly find words of encouragement when they are needed, the book can also be enjoyed in a longer read--soaked in as a gift to oneself during those prescious times of stillness. When I am angry, or blue, tired, or frustrated, whenver my ability to give love and support is challenged by others who wish to boost their egos by eroding my sense of self-worth or by the pressures of my job or my family, I open Sharon's book and find tools for rejuvenation.
