Reader's Digest Book of Amazing Facts, January 18, 2001
This review is from: Book of Amazing Facts (Readers Digest) (Hardcover)
A wonderful collection of interesting facts and illustrations pertaining to the world around us. This is an excellent book for browsing or reference. Each couple of pages covers a different topic. The topics are grouped together under six main catagories: Planet Earth, The Living World, The Human Body, Science and Technology, The Human World, and Fact File. As you begin to turn the pages you find yourself learning interesting facts about related topics. The text is very spread out on the pages so that as you turn the page, you see 5-7 different text boxes spread out accross the next two pages. They are intermingled with a wide variety of helpful illustrations. The illustrations are vivid and prominent. They feature photos and drawings of all kinds. The book reads very similar to The Guinness Book of World Records although it's content is different and more refined.
