Bellum Gallicum Book 7,
By Jack Regan (San Francisco) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Book 7 of Caesar's Bellum Gallicum: With Introduction, Text, Vocabulary and Notes (Paperback)
Outstanding. Makes clear Ceasar's idiomatic latin. Book 7 might well be the most important of all of Ceasar's books. The Gallic War (and the Civil War) should be read by all who are concerned about the war in Iraq today! As fierce a fighter and as compasionate a diplomat as he was, it still took Ceasar 8 years to quell the "civil" war in Gaul.
