3.0 out of 5 stars Wisdom, Humor, Inanity and Schmalz, July 20, 2000
This review is from: The Book of California Wisdom: Common Sense and Uncommon Genius from 101 Great Californians (Wisdom of Series) (Paperback)
There are some pretty good quotes here such as "The taxpayer is someone who works for the government but doesn't have to take a civil service exam" (Ronald Reagan, p. 150) and "It's too bad that all the people who know how to run the country are busy driving taxicabs and cutting hair" (George Burns, p. 156). There are also some characteristic tinseltown utterances such as "The better we understand ourselves, the better we are at our work" (Shirley MacLaine, p. 112) and "If you think it's going to rain, it will" (Clint Eastwood, p. 67). Should you buy this little book? "The best advice may be no advice. That's not my line. It's from a fortune cookie" (George Burns, p. 57).
