This is a collection of book covers, nothing more or less. Some of the designs are really striking and attractive, some less so. There are some nice inspirations in this book. What it lacks and I would have really liked was some discussion about the covers: what the artist thought about them, why they made the artistic choices they did, something to give it a little more meat.

At it is, it is a pretty picture book.

Susanna has the ability to add visual context with her book cover designs that help you imagine what the characters and settings are inside the book. Susanna is extremely talented and great at what she does..!

I was actually looking for a collection of book covers and I like what Susanna has put together here. A good addition to my reference file.

This Kindle book is a cool showcase of selected Kindle ebook covers designed by the talented Susanna Ivy. Further, her covers help sell books -- a number of these covers resulted in bestselling books and viewing them is a good study for what works in Kindle book design. With only a front cover for Kindle books, the design of a cover has to have maximum impact at thumbnail size, as well as on a small rectangle on the Amazon buy-it page. My publisher had her design one of my covers and it is a good-selling book. It is not enough to write a great book. It has to be wrapped in a beautiful package. Susanna Ivy has a keen artist's eye and an intuition for design that takes the high concept of a novel and delivers the author's words as a visual theme in the marketplace. Also an award-winning photographer, Ms. Ivy has a sense of light, color, and composition that translates from her photo savvy into her graphic design for book covers. This is a display of her talent as a book designer that shows an understanding of what makes novels intriguing to readers in the marketplace and beyond. Five stars. -- Eve Paludan, Author of Ghost Fire

If you are browsing the Kindle store for a fabulous new book to read, and you stumble on one with a Susanna Ivy cover, it is likely to stop you dead in your tracks. It may even haunt your daydreams, if not your night dreams. For instance, just take a peek at those amber, lupine eyes on the cover of *Lost Valley*: Perhaps any technically competent artist could render the visage of a wolf, but Susanna Ivy's wolf has a riveting intensity -- an implicit interplay of almost human emotions in its eyes as they contemplate you frontally, head-on (although perhaps only a third of the wolf's face is abstracted for placement on this particular cover).

Other creations in this collection of the artist's diverse ebook covers evoke the color and exotic historical flavor of fiction set in distant times and places. They adeptly draw you in to the vast, arid ambience of desert lands at the time of the Second Temple, or the medieval aura of mystery surrounding Merlin's magic (symbolized by a glowing, phosphorescent orb that could be a crystal ball, or a globe, or a whole other world unto itself, with wonderful use of light and shadow as in so many of the covers in this book); the always seductive quest for the Holy Grail; the question of what face hides behind or within that detailed and realistic suit of armor (Sir Lancelot's, judging from the book title).

The artist is equally adept at conjuring up the sunny, wholesome themes of middle-school friendships or high-schoolers' summer shenanigans at the beach.
