This is the more recent version (1992) of the song BOOK of DAYS by Enya. Written for the feautre film, FAR and AWAY with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, this song has a driven emotional passion for a long journey to new lands (as does the movie). To start over, to begin again is what the song and movie is all about. Determination rings throughout the entire tune, along with a fast up-beat rhythm that will never let you fall.

Utterly the best song ever written. The best song ever created. The best Enya song to date, and Enya is my favorite artist, I have all of albums and this is truly her culminating achievement. MY ALL TIME FAVORITE SONG, BOOK OF DAYS (FAR and AWAY)

"S Fagaim Mho Baile" is not a reworking of "Exile" -- that is "As Baile". SFMB is a different song altogether.

MTV used 'Book of Days' on the tribute to Pedro Zamora, the cast-member of The Real World III. It also was the main theme of the movie 'Far and Away'. To me, 'Book of Days' is still the very best song I have ever heard in my entire life. It's strange to say it here, but I'll sure want them to play this on my last day on earth. :)

I'm 27. Studying for the SAT back in high school, this song got stuck in my head... and I put it on repeat, it helped me focus, and I aced the test. In college, when I was stuck on a paper, I'd put it on repeat and finish the paper. In business school... well, I didn't study much, but in law school-- back on the Book of Days. Still today, when I'm professinally stumped and need that extra intellectual juice, Enya puts me in the zone.

Ok, I know what you're thinking. Why do I need this? I already have these songs. But you don't. The first four songs are different from the original versions. Redone or remixed, I'm not sure, but they sound better, softer, more soothing. Anyway, if you don't have this cd single, you probably don't have these versions. That, alone, makes this a must have, so grab it.

Being a Japanese issue makes this CD a novelty I guess, with six songs on it you do get some beautiful music. I'm not really sure which one I like best, Carribean Blue and Book of Days are always good.
Enya is remarkably consistent in her ability to turn out good music although these little foreign issue CD's are expensive, you do get good music here. If you can take the price go and buy this little collection, it has some of her best work on it.

This cd is the bomb! The only thing I don't like about it is it is from Japan. Don't get me wrong, but hardly any enya singles were put out in the U.S. The cd has 3 non-album tracks and is a very rare find! (Being from Japan and all!)...

The music on this CD is BEAUTIFUL! It is very moving and wonderful singing. Enya has a great voice and it really shows on this CD!

I recorded the Olympics from this past year, and I watch it all the time. Well, you know when they show action clips of athletes and play some music? Well, when they are showing Women's gymnastics, the first show the Russian Women, and in the background you hear this song. And then I realized the song was Enya!! So I got the song, and it's a wonderful song. Very soothing. I thought the people who picked out the song picked the perfect song for that clip! "One step, One fall, One falter, East or West over Earth or by Ocean..." It is just a great song. So, go out and get it!!
