Secret techniques of safe driving,
By
This review is from: The Book of Expert Driving (Mass Market Paperback)
Ed Fales, the auther, was appointed to the Federal Highway Commission by President Eisenhauer. For decades he was the leading authority on safe driving in this country.Everyone of us will sooner or later run into a challenging situation while driving, one that may result in injury or death, or one that we can avoid by knowing some secrets of the road. If you have kids who are learning to drive, give them this to read and test them on it. It may very likely save their lives and prevent their involvement in accidents. It will surprise you how much YOU don't know, as well. The content of the book is not common sense, but based on physics, human psychology, and factors that a driver would not normally consider. It is not about race car driving, but about becoming an expert at driving YOUR car.

This may be old, but very little has changed. No matter how long you've been driving, if you don't learn at least 5 new things from this book, then you're unteachable.

Beyond Driving 101,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Book of Expert Driving (Hardcover)
Goes beyond your high school Joe-bag-o-donuts driver's ed class and teaches what is really important to professional driving. This book proves that it isn't just the other gal (or guy) who got their driver's license out of a Cracker Jacks box! Fortunately, it takes a tactful approach to showing how you could be a better driver. Chocked full of useful information that will make driving less stressful and perhaps save your life. It is old, but nothing in road design, people, or vehicles has changed in the past 30 years that would negate any word in this book. Best wishes finding it. I still have my copy purchased in 1975.
