This is a great addition to your cookbook library if, like me, you are greedy for ideas on integrating the Catholic liturgical year into your family life and traditions. It will be of particular interest to those with British heritage, as it explains many customs and provides recipes peculiar to Irish, Scottish, Welsh, but especially English traditions.

I came across Mrs. Bogle's TV program "Feasts and Seasons" by chance one recent afternoon.

Found her so interesting as she explained the making of an Advent Wreath and of some traditional foods for Christmas that I just had to buy this book. It is written in the same friendly style as she speaks.

I've enjoyed the information about each feast day in the liturgical calendar of the Catholic Church. It's interesting to read the history of the various foods and traditions.

I bought this book for my mother and mother in law as gifts and they both really loved it. My mom said it brought back a lot of memories from her childhood of traditions that many have forgotten but that her mom and dad use to uphold. The history of the seasons is so wonderful.

For a Catholic family, what could be better. Great traditions, religious ceremonies explained, with excellent recipes.

I strongly recommend it if you are Catholic looking for having a Catholic traditional home...
