5.0 out of 5 stars very good investment
I am a commercial tier and licenced outfitteer and have advised the purchase of this book for years as it holds more information and patterns than 5 times the book price in "other books". The instruction of how totie some of the patterns is exaxctly as how it should be done and this has helped me a great deal...I am a licenced outfitter here on the Bighorn...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not for the beginner.
Althought this book claims to have many illustrations, they are of poor quality and small size. It includes sparse directions on how to actually tie each fly, but rather only gives "recipes" of materials to be used for each. I would recommend The Basic Manual of Fly Tying by Paul Fling for those that want step by step directions.
