Very Easy to Listen to,
This review is from: Book Like This (Dig) (Audio CD)
I first became aware of Angus & Julia Stone when my hairdresser mentioned I might like them after I commented that I liked the CD (Regina Spektor - Begin to Hope) which was playing. So glad I took her advice. "A Book Like This" has very quickly become my favourite CD. The vocals are almost hypnotic and soothing. Easy to listen to whether driving or sitting on train on the way home from work or even just hanging about at home.

Superb,
This review is from: A Book Like This (MP3 Download)
This is a great album for true music lovers. I love their jazz influence that plays out on a lot of the tracks. Don't miss "Private Lawns" which has a great bass line to it and the track "Silver Coin" which has great use of orchestral instruments.
These two are true artists and really should be paid attention to.

I heard a couple of songs from this brother and sister duo on public radio and was intrigued, so I bought the cd and found out that it is one of those rare cd's where the entire cd is actually really well done. The songs are all a bit moody, so know that goin in. No dance tracks here. The only problem I have with the cd is the way the duo are not really a duo but two singer songwriters who trade tracks. Angus (the brother) has an amazing voice and I found myself repeating his songs over and over again. Julia, while having a great voice, though at times it gets a bit whiny for me, is kind of a shock to the ears, coming on the track following her brothers. That, however is the only bad thing I have to say about this cd. It is well worth the money spent in my oppinion.
