5.0 out of 5 stars This Book is definitrly worth anything you pay for it., August 3, 1998

Diadem : Book of Magic is an incredible adventure ride. All though this is true I suggest you read the first two books before this one. The first three books in this series are so intrictly wound that just to read one is impossible and would drive me crazy. This book (Diadem 3) was my favorite out of all the Diadem's because they have to unite together (and they really didn't like each other that much before) to save them selves. the thing I find most enjoyable about this book is Peel's (the Author) use of ancient myths like dragons, centaurs, wizards, and unicorns as characters on the many strange worlds. If you're considering ordering this book, do so but only if you love excitement, drama, mystery, and amazing fantasy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Diadem Books, April 21, 2003
By A Customer
Amazing. I have had my diadem set for 4 years, and I never tire of sitting on my couch and reading for yet another time, Diadem. John Peel writes with the feel and certaincy of an established writer, for that is who he is. The book is very, very good. Just a question, why is the fourth book so rare?

All the "Diadem" books are MUST READS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the over-all plot and wonder how Peel thinks of all the wonderful stuff he puts in his books. The Helaine, Score, and Pixel have interesting traits & personalities. People that give this book under four stars are out of there mind! I LOVE JHON PEEL'S BOOKS. He MUST write more "Diadem" books!! If you liked these book you'll love "The Secret of Dragonhome!!

5.0 out of 5 stars It was great!, June 3, 1998

I haven't read a book like this since the neverending story and these books are better. John Peel can always make you believe he's narrarating all the characters by himself. Unlike another of my favorite writers,K.a. Applegate who writes the Animorphs. I loved how he made the humans and unicorns talk with telepathy.I also loved how sneaky he made Sarman. And how he made the Trinity and those sneaky evil canniving Shadows. Well thats all I have to say besides: TRY TO READ THEM ALL!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars I thought this book was great and action packed., September 20, 1998
By A Customer
I think this book was one of the best in the series, Score, Renald, and Pixel meet with unicorns named Thunder, Nova, and Flame, and have to stop an evil magician, before he stops them with huge beasts made with the elements of Water, Fire, Gas, and Rock. This book and all the other books in the Diadem series are great. If you like this you'll probably like all of the other Diadem books.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a great book!, June 23, 1998

Everyone, this book sums everything up. The evil wizard Sarman is trying to control the Diadem with his model but needs Score, Renald, and Pixel to complete it. Will they stop him and reclaim the Diadem For good, or will evil rein? Plus if you put all the books next to each other, #1 first all they way to #6, they form a cool picture, of what happens in those books.

4.0 out of 5 stars Diadem #3: Book of Magic, February 17, 2010
This review is from: Book of Magic (Diadem Series) (Paperback)
Diadem #3: Book of Magic, by John Peel

Now on Dondar, a planet very close to the inner Diadem, Score, Helaine, and Pixel know that they are close to the end of their journey. Soon they will find out why they are being trained as weapons and herded to the center of the Diadem.

On Dondar, they encounter the ultimate of fantasy creatures: unicorns. The unicorns are extremely distrusting of humans, since most magic users want them just for their horns, but the trio manages to gain the trust of the unicorn herd.

The first half of the book is taken up with defeating Dondar's warlord magician, and the second half focuses on the shadowy enemy mentioned in the first two books of the series. Score, Helaine, and Pixel finally learn who they are, why they were sent from their home worlds, and who has left them the various puzzles they've found in their travels.

The ending of this first adventure is a little anticlimactic, as the battle doesn't live up to it being foreshadowed for three books, but it's a satisfactory resolution. Peel ends this book on another cliffhanger, as he sends the trio on a new adventure with their newest friends, the unicorns.

4/5.

Score, Helaine, and Pixel travel to the planet Dondar. They help a herd unicorns of defeat the most powerful wizard of the planet, only to find their troubles are just beginning. I have read several of John Peel's books, and I think this is the best one. It's a real page turner. I wish I could give it six stars.
