Book Description

You don't need an agent or a publisher to make your new book a success. You can use the power of the crowd to pre-fund your book and create your own virtual signing bonus. That's what I did. I raised over $35k in 30-days for my new book series. Want to know how to do it? That's what this book is all about.

I know what struggles you have as an aspiring author. One of the biggest ones is book marketing, and selling books. I've written this book to help give you an easy way to solve those problems. In this book I take you step-by-step through how I did it myself, and show you how you can do it as well.

Who is this book for?

* Anyone who has ever thought of writing a book or had the idea for a book, on any topic, in any niche

* Anyone who doesn't want to deal with the agents and big publishers and wants to have control to do it themselves

* Anyone who wants to make money selling books before they even put pen to paper

You know there's a better way to publish books. This is it. Take this simple, easy-to-follow strategy and make it a reality.

What's in the book?

* Step-by-step instructions on how to create your own crowdfunding or "pre-funding" campaign

* Including details on how to set up your funding campaign and landing page

* Advice on how to build your own platform you can use to drive awareness for your book

* Tools and resources you can use to create your pre-funding campaign

It's all here. I've taken my entire experience of pre-funding my own books to the tune of over $35k and put it into this book for you to read and follow and do yourself! The best part is, anyone can do this.

I've never given a bad book review but I just had to say that this book was a huge disappointment. First, the price is over valued. Why? This isn't a book; it's a marketing brochure and I prefer not pay for someone else's marketing collateral. Throughout this document, the author constantly pitches his businesses and services in an attempt to get the reader to spend more money on his enterprises. I haven't checked his website but I suspect that you will learn as much from his website, for free, as you would from this document. Apologies to the author for my candid review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quick Read, Full of Solid Info! March 14, 2012

This (like another of his books I've recently downloaded), is a very quick read. But he gets down to business right out the gate and tells you exactly how he raised the money before he ever even wrote his book. Reading his strategies got my juices flowing as I'm starting to come up with many of my own ideas for pre-funding /crowdsourcing. Give yourself a book deal, self publish, and keep your profits. The rules of the publishing industry are changing fast and if anyone's going to show you the path -it's THIS GUY!

1.0 out of 5 stars What Works for Some... October 11, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book reeks of "marketing guru" types who make their money off selling marketing information. The information the author writes about may have worked for him for a marketing book, but WILL NOT work the same for a fiction book. Giving examples such as JK Rowling, but then stating "she did it backwards by being successful first". NO KIDDING. You aren't going to find many sources for funding if you are an unknown fiction author. It doesn't matter how interesting your story might be, no one is going to pay you ahead of time. You'd be better off finding a publisher and start working on your 2nd book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Helpful but needs more depth October 19, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I'm still working out how to adapt some of the concepts for use with fiction ebooks. Wish there was more depth to many of the concepts. Granted there is alot of information packed in this book, I found myself thinking that some were cut a little short. A little vague. Seems that the only way you will get the "meat" of the concepts is to follow the many weblinks scattered throughout. Overall great ideas and marketing plan. Just wish there was more of that plan actually in the book itself. Will have to report back after attempting the process.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting and Helpful! October 15, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I have just self-published my first novel and am thinking about getting crowdsourced funding for my second one. I stumbled upon an online essay of Kukral's and liked what he had to say, so I decided to follow up by reading this quick guide. I read it in an hour and it gave me a good intro to the how-to (and why-to, if that's a thing) of this type of marketing and funding. A good basic guide with some solid tips and tricks. I'd definitely recommend it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Greatest Overview ever... September 3, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Great overview of the CrowdFunding Process. I am always amazed by the huge amounts of money that are out there for the average Joe or Jane to get to fund their stuff.

Jim easily describes the process he went through and how you can too!

I as colleague in the industry I have the greatest respect for Jim's work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Advice for a Beginner! August 1, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I've been thinking about crowdfunding my next publishing project and Dan makes it seem like a realistic option. He pulls no punches and gives authors a realistic view on all the hard work and planning it takes to raise money. Other important subjects discussed are the issues of integrity and transparency during the crowdfunding process.

My only complaint is he briefly mentions taxes, which is an important subject. He also doesn't mention the possibility of failure and what to do when things don't work out.

All in all, however, I really enjoyed the book and got a few good ideas from it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Self Fundraising Made Easy April 30, 2012
By Maurice
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It may seem that it would be a difficult task for self-publishing authors to raise funding for the creation of their book. Even some of the social-funding channels are not available to every kind of literary project because of certain restrictions and rules most of the funding sites have. Jim's book shows you the author, how you can raise the needed funds yourself, how to find contributors, and how to effectively create a platform (blog, website, landing page) along with the use of Facebook, Twitter and other places to attract your potential funding audience.
