This book has contributed to my success!,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Book on Mind Management (Paperback)
Since reading Dr. Deaton's book, I have recommended it to many friends and business associates. The techniques he describes really work! At the time I read the book, I was managing an extremely productive department in a large corporation; however, I was convinced that the productivity of this department would be even greater if all employees read this book and used the techniques it teaches. When I was recently given the responsibility of managing a larger department, this book became recommended reading for the managers who report to me. They would echo me when I say that I wish I would have known about and practiced dominant thought management sooner. What a difference it has made in my life!

Managing my Own Mind!!,
By
This review is from: The Book on Mind Management (Paperback)
There are so many books on magagement these days - managing a team; managing a department; managing yourself; managing your manager - you know what I mean!Sometimes, I think we forget how important our mind, body, heart and spirit are not only in our working, but also in our personal lives. While browsing on Amazon (as I do on a regular basis), I found this book title. It hit me straight away that the most important factor in my life is my Mind! How I react to every life experience on a day to day basis,is dependent on how I feel inside. This book hit the spot. It was easy to read from the beginning, in a language that anyone can grasp, irrespective of whichever 'self mangagement' books you have read on the past. I like the annecdotes, the stories, and many of the phrases, which will stay with me always. One in particluar is this, which I think is so true.... "thinking is your soul talking out loud" How quickly we have forgotten to listen to what our conscience and soul is saying to us! Please read this - it's a must keep on the book shelf! And make sure you pass it on to friends and your partner, who may learn a little more about how thier minds are thinking and working!!!

Powerful and Fun to Read,
By David Fields (Seattle) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Book on Mind Management (Paperback)
I purchased this book five years ago and still to this day, I pull it off the shelf for motivation when needed. Dennis Deaton teaches in very simple terms how our thoughts are so powerful and how we need to be aware of the impact of negative thoughts in our minds. After reading this you will understand and believe that you can obtain or do anything that you put your mind to. I went from the bottom of the ranks in my company's sales team to the top of the class in less than a year! I want to thank Dennis Deaton for the time he put into this one.

I was shocked to see someone leave a negative 1 star comment on this book. That reviewer found exactly what he must be finding in all areas of his life in this book... so if you look for the good in life, look to this book! Dennis is a master storyteller that is why he puts them in his book! If you are a reader that enjoys reading an inspiring story that you get completely lost to your environment as you read it, you will love this! In a Book Readers Club that I am a member of we chose this book and everyone in the group agrees this is the best book we have read yet as a group (and we have read some classics, some beauties and some duds!). We are going to read it a second time it has been that profound. Do yourself a favor and buy two copies, you will want to give a copy of this one to someone in your life!!!

Mind mastery explained,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Book on Mind Management (Paperback)
At last a clear book full of stories and anecdotes on how the human mind can be managed and mastered to bring us happiness here while we are still alive. Deaton is passionate about his subject and the excitement nearly jumps off the page. It's pretty hard to read this book and be a victim of life's circumstances ever again. Napoleon Hill is alive and well in the teeming brain of Dr. Dennis Deaton.

Well Worth the Read - Just the Right Mix of Science and New Age,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Book on Mind Management (Paperback)
This is a wonderful book written with useful anecdotes that illustrate the author's premise. Yes, this is another book in the "thoughts manifest reality" genre. Yet, the author is engaging and mixes in just enough science to make the theme believable. Well worth a read.

Incredible,
This review is from: The Book on Mind Management (Paperback)
Truly remarkable and life changing. This book is the most applicable book I've ever read. Once you decide to commit to fulfilling your commitments, you gain power, strength and self worth. Integrity is acheived by you becoming who you say you are and becoming your word. That is worth all the money and influence in the world.

The Book on Mind Management,
By
This review is from: The Book on Mind Management (Paperback)
Dennis Deaton's Book on Mind Management is intended to give readers the ability to focus their minds onto whatever they envision their lives to be, then vision themselves in that role. The end result is a person in complete control of their emotions and lives so that they achieve the success they dream about. On the surface this is really an expanded view of the old adage of staying focused on a goal to achieve it.Deaton provides examples throughout his book, him as a little league baseball player, Olympic marathon runners, disease ridden people, all who have their one goal in mind and how they attempted to achieve that goal. Each of his examples are successful. Deaton makes it sound so simple. But he never really gets out of his self righteous mode. He assumes people will always have a goal and his is the best way to get there. His theory is simple, if he can do it anyone can. I give him credit for that because it wipes away excuses people come up with for their own failures. But here is where his book is weak. He never really covers the range of human frailties. People want to blame and make excuses, make themselves victims of circumstance. Deaton touches on these traits, but doesn't really address them in a way that is deeper than merely saying successful people "don't do that." This isn't a bad book. In a way it is similar to his owner's manual for money. He refects the baby boom genertion's values which will become more problematic as time moves on. If baby boomers weren't so fixated on goals and success, they may not fall victim to selfishness. Such selfishness is in part the reason why we are in our economic hard times. Deaton omits ehtics from any of his arguments. Ethics is a reality check. Yes, we may be able to do something or achieve something, but ethics asks should we do something? Too many people bent on success simply agree that they can do something and never give an ethical thought to ask if it is the right thing to do. Deaton does offer some good ideas for people who lack confidence in themselves, and this should not be overlooked. If you face a challenge and are full of self doubt, Deaton's book provides ways to overcome obstacles, no matter how large. For this reason this book as both merit and value. The reader will need to decide for themselves if their vision is beneficial to more than just their own self interest of pocketbook. |
