While I have decided that I will not be a Mormon for now... guess what? This book is enjoyable to read, no matter what you think of it's validity. After drudging through 10 pages of how to build a tabernacle at the end of Exodus, that's quite a good thing for me. It's filled with life lessons, though provoking anecdotes, and it's an enjoyable read. So who really cares if God himself came down from the sky to help write it?

This book has changed my life. It needs to be read. You may not agree with it, but you won't find the evil thing that anti-Mormons claim it to be. Almost every page teaches of Christ in some way and challenges the reader to the highest standards of Christian conduct. The principles taught are consistent with the bible, and there is a spirit of peace and joy that permeates as you read it with honest questions.

There is no need to pay for this book, one can receive a copy for free. Visit mormon.org and request one, they will send it too you without any obligations if you wish. For those seeking to know more about the "Mormon church" or even about different forms of Christianity, I would urge you too look at both sides without bias and understand that mankind is not perfect, only God our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ are. This book along with the Holy bible has the power to change lives, that power is undeniable when you look at all the lives that it has touched and changed for good. I hope that the honest, sincere truth seeker will take a moment and read the Bible, and read the book of Mormon with a sincere hope to know if it is true. I write this review because I have and I am thankful for the peace and happiness that the words have brought me and the lessons that it continues to teach me. Read with an open mind and a sincere heart, knowing the central theme, can only be true or false, not both.

We enjoyed this book very much. It contained interesting questions to think about, interesting core belief concepts, and interesting character virtue building accounts.

I learn something new every time I read it. The cross references to the Bible and other scripture clarify and elaborate passages therein. The index in the back makes it easy to study items by topic and not solely in chronological order.

I highly recommend it.

The Book of Mormon together with the Bible witness of Christ our Lord and Savior. One only needs to read it with a humble, sincere heart with just enough faith adn courage to ask God himself if it is true.
23 years ago I did just that. I had only just begun to read and decided to put my trust in Him. I knelt down in my quiet apartment and sincerely asked God if there was something I needed to learn from this book I had been given. I could never deny the feeling that came over me of warmth, peace and joy. I now know this power to be the Holy Ghost. Satan can NOT imitate the feelings of peace. I have been an avid student of the Book of Mormon and the Bible ever since and Christ is without a doubt my best friend and advocate. My life has been so blessed.
I grew up being taught this Anti-Mormon stance, I myself, with my "Christian" youth group handed out Anti-Mormon litature at a Mormon Temple Open House. I can only say that it is very sad that fellow "Christians" would spend so much energy breaking one of the Lords Ten Commandments, to bear not false witness against thy neighbor.
My prayer is that if you happen upon this, you take courage to read for yourself, trusting not on the arm of flesh, but on the God who created you. He is not dead, does love His children, does hear our prayers, and does answer our heart felt cries.

It is convenient, compact and easy to have to read anywhere on the go. I am very glad to have had this edition of a compilation of the writings of prophets sharing the words of Jesus Christ that have a practical every-day application both in my life an in the lives of millions of others who have read it. I have actually read it and found that there is nothing more positive and useful in dealing with day-to-day events than following the teachings of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ which can be summed up by the two greatest commandments which are to "Love God" and to "Love thy neighbor as thyself" really good guidelines in my book if only we would all strive to live by these whether you claim to believe in a higher power or not how can you go wrong in learning to have a deeper sense of love for others and inner-peace by living by these tenants in an increasingly unstable world. Jesus Christ as taught in this book was born of the virgin Mary, prophesied of by many previous prophets including Noah, Abraham, Isaiah and John the Baptist, he was born in the most humble of circumstances in Bethlehem, grew in knowledge and power from a very young age, taught the higher law replacing the Mosiac law as he had come to fulfill this law, Christ performed miracles throughout his ministry, made an atonement for all sin while he was praying to God the Father in the Garden of Gethsemane, and was crucified, and was resurrected on the third day. After which he appeared to his apostles and showed his scars to them while he talked and ate honeycomb and fish before he ascended again into heaven promising to return again in majesty and glory. This book is an account of the people living on the American Continent and includes an account or written record of those people including the appearance of Jesus Christ following his resurrection in Jerusalem. Just one reference by Christ himself included John 10:16(KJV) "And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd." As with any personal insight into one's life I personally go by James 1:5(KJV) "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." I highly recommend this book especially for all those seeking a great and unique addition to their library!

I used the Pocket Book of Mormon on my mission. It's really convenient to be able to open quickly and flip to where you're going. It's certainly better than a bulky one if you want to carry it with you everywhere you go. Of course, now I have an iPod Touch and the church has an app for the scriptures that I use:

But having the pocket Book of Mormon is certainly more convenient and better than having no Book of Mormon at all!
