4.0 out of 5 stars Ray Bach "Freeze Frame" 1st CD, March 25, 2004
By
This review is from: Book of Movie Scores (Audio CD)
Freeze Frame is keyboardist Ray Bach along with various guest musicans on guitars, saxophones, and sometime vocals.
Until 1999 Ray recorded 5 CD's worth of music for the now-extinct IC (Innovative Communications) label based in Germany. This was his first, and features more of an atmospheric synthesizer based/symphonic new age kind of music and is done very well. With each following release, Ray went more into a modern smooth-jazz groove, quite good but I would consider this his best. His material is probably best purchasing in the order it was recorded, first with "Movie Scores", then with his next album, "The Crossover" which is quite good as well.
I believe Bach has his own recording studio and makes jingles and the like for the advertising world. I don't believe he has recorded anymore (that i can find, anyway)since 1999's "A Balanced World", after which his recording label closed down.
I recommend this one....I believe some copies are still around but pretty sure this is actually out of print currently.
