Great history book
This book is an excellent history of photography. It is not a book of "how-to". If you are looking for a concise and readable history, this is a good start.

A warning of terrible and brutal pictures
Sadly the book contains a few very sick photographs of persons which get murdered or tormented, or a portrait shoot of a burned and disfigured dead person.

This book is the bible to photography! Anyone passionate about photography, interested in its history, or who teaches it (like me) must have this book! It is full of colorful visuals and has very fascinating information. Well written and organized. Chock full of exciting info!

What could be better than a book from the National Geographic Society that shows photos and how to take them? Great for a photography buff, or a magazine fan.
