Quality must always be your first consideration...,
By Kirsten M. Houseknecht "Practice is the midwi... (philadelphia, pa USA) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Book of Shadows (Hardcover)
I wrote a very quick review for this product, ages ago, and felt that I needed to better describe this book. When selecting a blank book for your writings that is intended to be kept for many years, perhaps even passed down to future generations, then quality must be your first consideration. This is a solidly bound, unlined, blank book with thick enough pages not to have your ink bleed through. It is a black book, available in two sizes, labeled in Gold embossed letters on the cover, and down the spine, "Book of Shadows". It includes a small paper insert with a suggested book blessing and dedication. The pages are acid free and of archival quality, which means they will not redily turn yellow or become brittle. You may wish to consider that you must use a long lasting, non fading ink, if you expect any of your writings to last. Since the pages are unlined, you may embellish freely with pictures, drawings, diagrams, rubber stamps, or whatever you desire. For more information on making books and memories last, I suggest reading a good sourcebook on scrapbooking. This is a bound book, like any "hardback book", and you will not be able to change the order of your pages, or add material between pages one and two, so careful consideration of how you want your book arranged should be done *before* you fill any of it in. My personal "working" Book(s)of Shadow(s) tend to be kept in three ring binders, as I am often adding new information, or arranging things differently. I *do* use a copy of this book however, for the core teachings, basic rituals, and liturgy that I often use when teaching others. It has stood up to hard use, and still looks very elegant.

A Note of Caution,
By Ainabarad (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Book of Shadows (Hardcover)
When I first came across this I thought it was a nice idea for those interested, but there is always a drawback to blank journals such as this that should not be overlooked when considering whether or not to purchase one: you may not be able to edit what you write in the event you would want to later. Because of that, many would say journals used for things such as this that may change over time are best made using an empty binder and some notebook paper instead. That's just something to think about. As for the outward appearance of this blank journal, I'll be kind and give it five stars.

I enjoy my Book of Shadows,
This review is from: Book of Shadows (Hardcover)
In the past I kept all of my Craft information and spells in a spiral notebook. Then I graduated to a three-ring binder. I think I finally had enough of the mess that my folders were in. I could not find anything, as I needed it. So, I came to Amazon.com and searched for a blank Book of Shadows. I must say I have found what i was looking for. I am a happy Witch! Actually, when I first recieved my BOS I thought it was rather plain...black. But I came up with several decorative ideas to personalize it as my own. So, that was not a problem. My actual problem came when I wanted to write in the book. For one...I was afraid of the organization of my information that I would have to do to complete my personal BOS. But I am happy to say...I have completed my first book of shadows, it is now full. I am definately going to order another one very soon. It is a great idea...get one for yourself. Blessings! )0(

Exemplary hardcover, blank journal is ideal for writing,
By A Customer

This sleek black journal can fit the needs of any writer or scribe. I find this to be a bargain, compared to other journals, since there is an abundant amount of pages and room for every moment that one feels to draft and record ideas. Highly recommended!!!

Just a big empty journal with instructions on how to consecrate your new book. Those of you who know what a "Book of Shadows" is for WON'T be disappointed. The pages are unlined but I can live with that. ~BB~

Okay for Some,
By Karl G "Jerry" (Singapore) - See all my reviews

This is indeed, a marketing tool. However, it is a very good one at that. The quality of the paper and pages is much better than those even found in professional-written books. It is just a notebook, but it is a very well-made one. It can withstand the assaults of time and paper-eating bugs. The binding is also well-done. It is not a haphazardly-made product. However, it is a little too expensive for just good paper bound together. I would advise you to buy it if you're a real Wicca lover, or even a collector, but if you're a fun-seeking person, the answer is no.

What I was looking for,
By A Customer
This review is from: Book of Shadows (Hardcover)
Let me say this is a great idea. Before I have had to use notebooks and other things I could find around the house to use for my Book of Shadows and this finnaly gave me the feeling that I was writing in something that was worth while, not just a regular peice of paper, but something that seemed to already be holy in its own way. I am so grateful for finding this! ~Blessed Be~

Lovely addition to any collection,
This review is from: Book of Shadows (Hardcover)
This book makes a beautiful Book of Shadows, but it wasn't quite what I had in mind. It's much bigger and flatter than what I had been looking for, and more modern than gothic-looking. It's got nice big pages though for drawing diagrams and what not. Of course you have to be careful, since you can't take pages out and swap them about. I definately love it, but I'm afraid to write in it and found a cheaper notebook with pages that can be put in and taken out to work on first. Maybe after everything is down pat I will copy it permanently in the Book of Shadows. Keep that in mind before you drop money on this.

A Must For The Craft,
By
This review is from: Book of Shadows (Hardcover)
The quality of this book is wonderful. The cover, binding and pages are designed to last for a long time. (possibly into the next several generations). I've seen these books with more cover designs (Pentacle, Diana, Eye of Horus and Blank)at the website for So Mote It Be Boutique. You should check there if you want different designs. But all and all this is a great buy for your money.

Good quality blank BOS,
This review is from: Book of Shadows (Hardcover)
this is a blank journal of solid quality. I have had mine for nearly a year now and have filled about 3/4 of it. While the faux leather finish is beginning to peel and some of my older journals have proven to be more durable, this specific BOS-style journal with large, unlined pages proves to be a versatile, classy, and helpful book for any witch to have.
