I got this book as a gift, several years ago, when I was in high school. The pictures are amazing and the text is informative. This is a great book for children (probably 10yrs & up) and adults who are interested in nature and/or spiders, scorpions, etc. It should be noted that this book does not list every species of spider. It mainly serves as an introduction or general overview of spiders and their habitats.

When our 24 year old son asked for a book on spiders for Christmas, I did a LOT of online review reading. We found 2 that were just what we were looking for (this one: "The Book of Spiders"; & another called "Book of the Spider" by Paul Hillyard.) The Book of Spiders has many incredible photographs and lots of interesting facts. I do NOT like spiders, however I found this book hard to put down! If you are looking for a book about spiders for an adult, I highly recommend this one, it is loaded with info and is written in laymans terms.
