This is a wonderful prayer resource. It draws from numerous sources and has prayers for most situations and conditions. Sometimes it is most difficult to pray when we need to the most. This book provides the words when our own word don't come.

I absolutely love this book. It essentially is a bundle of awesome, Holy Spirit lead prayers that express ginuine hearts of people to Papa. The prayers are split up into categories by genre whether it be prayers about health, protection, recentering, etc...they all display a great heart and longing for God. There many anonymous authors' writings as well as well known Christians and non famous Christians. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a deeper relationship with God that find it hard to articulate it for themselves. Also, for people who just love seeing His body express their love to Him in the beautiful way of prayer.

I've used this book repeatedly both in my own life and as I have served congregations as pastor. The breadth of authorship alone is outstanding; from the 1st century all the way to the present and it is divided up according to theme, yet has a great index to help you find things and authors quickly. The beauty of language is outstanding too, with great attention taken to not sound pompous or verbose, but nearly every prayer strikes the nail squarely on the head.
It should be on every pastor's and seminarian's shelf!

It has some nice prayers and is divided into 'occasions' for different requests, but I was hoping for prayers from the spiritual leaders from all over the world which were few.

It was not what I expected,not the type of prayers I would ever recite,long and not very understandable.I'm not an expert on prayer,I just don't get this book!
