3.0 out of 5 stars Good Follow Up to WWW.THUG.COM
While, some of the track you may skip through this was a decent follow up to Tricks www.Thug.com "Sitting on D's is a strong dope boy track, while "Shut UP" amply got the club crunk. Now when this album was brought out it was really Trick and Lil John whom were putting out club music.....safely creating diversity in there music. The beats are heavier on this album, an...

I have to say i really wasnt a fan of Trick Daddy but he mildly got my attention last year with Nann .. So i decided to check out his next effort in entirely.. I have to say he has expended his sound a little more with some very unique beats and rhymes .. Best tracks

Boy

Get on Up

Shut Up with it's Swizz Beats like beat.. and very clever trombone loop

Could it be

other tracks are pretty tight also..

Trick represents like a MUG! Every track on this album brings heat. I didn't think it got any better than "www.thugs",but it does. Ch.AK vs 47 is the bomb. Trick really went all out on this album. "Boy" has the tightest bass and lyrics. My fav tracks are: (2)Boy,(3)Sittin on D,(4)Gettin on up,(5)America,(7)Thug for Life,(9)walkin like a hoe,(10)stop smokin-its got an ugly beat but mystikal is tight as sh** on this track,(12)Could it be-is the slow track on the cd, and if you dont know twista you will now, and he will be one of your fav new artists. Those are my fav tracks. If you dont have this album go get it you'll have it forever its just that good.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Album Trick Daddy Has Released., January 25, 2007

Trick Daddy takes his career to the next level on Book of Thugs: Chapter AK Verse 47, moving to a major label, Atlantic, and delivering his first coast-to-coast hit, "Shut Up." His previous two releases, Based on a True Story (1997) and [...] (1998), had established him as one of the Dirty South's most promising rappers, particularly after "Nann N****" became an underground hit, but these gritty releases never crossed the Mason-Dixon Line nor the Mississippi River. On the contrary, Book of Thugs burst out of the South, thanks largely to the financial backing of Atlantic. For the first time in his career, Trick Daddy had a sizable budget to work with, and the results are wonderfully evident. Both the beats and the vocals sound incredibly vibrant, on a par with anything coming out of New York or Los Angeles at the time; furthermore, two big-name guests, Mystikal and Twista, make notable appearances, finally giving Trick Daddy some impressive talent with which to tangle. Above all though, Book of Thugs boasts "Shut Up," his rowdiest club-banger yet, also notable for reprising the dynamic Trick Daddy-Trina collaboration that had made "Nann Nigga" such a success two years earlier. Elsewhere, Book of Thugs features a other highlights as well ("Boy," "H** But Can Help It ," "Kill Ya A**"), and it's by means a solid album. Book of Thugs nonetheless raised the bar for Trick Daddy, elevating him to national status and setting the stage for his commercial breakthrough with this one.

I just picked up this album today at the mall. Every song on this album is tight. I've only heard a couple of Trick Daddy's song's. The only reason i picked this album up was because Mysikal was on one of the tracks and Nann was tight on the last album; so i thought i would try it out. Trick daddy really amazed me with this album. Most of the songs on the album are straight gangsta with a hardcore twist. The song that amazed me the most n the album is "K*ll your A**" and "Boy". So my conclusion is just try it out and see what happens, it could be one of the best albums of the "OO

This album is tight from beginning to end. Tracks like "Boy" and "Shut Up" are tight and the track he does with Mystikal is just sick! A must buy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Thug Testaments In Scripture, January 9, 2008
By
Carltouis Stevenson (Angeles Mesa, Los Angeles) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Book Of Thugs: Chapter A.K., Verse 47 (Audio CD)
Book Of Thugs: Chapter A.K., Verse 47 is the scriptures keeping it street as Trick Daddy's testament. Making suggestions of what to and not to do on "Boy" featuring The Lost Tribe & JV is more effective as everyone go back to back with punch lines. Taking signature Miami percussion tempo for "Get On Up" featuring The Lost Tribe, Money Mark & JV is a standout with its horn section as Righteous Funk Boogie captured the high school/college band feel with the production to march to. Using the same formula with an aggressive approach of a deep horn section highlights "Shut Up" featuring Duece Poppito, Trina & Co. "America" featuring Society is a reflection of America and what supposed to be constitutional rights showing why this country is failing. Showing the ladies what they are missing on "Thug For Life" featuring Kase & Mystic of The Lost Tribe proved to be an essential for this LP. Calling a spade a spade giving harlots their name with graphic tales on "Walkin' Like A Hoe" and closing with "Hoe But Can't Help It" featuring Buddy Roe. Whatever your vice is "Tryin' To Stop Smokin'" featuring Mystikal relates to any addiction and overcoming it. Understanding feelings and the depths shot by cupid's arrow "Could It Be" featuring Twista shows how love could find you even if you are not searching. To get on the "Thug Life Again" featuring Money Mark of Tre+6 "...a few good men with big guns..." is all that's necessary. Murder is the recipe for "K*ll Your A**" and "Gotta Let You Have It" featuring Buddy Roe has a mystic voodoo feel giving the album a rough edge for the with its nature. Obviously going into other chapters to complete this third chapter for Trick Daddy, Book Of Thugs: Chapter A.K., Verse 47 has a hidden agenda that we can come to agreement with. A man has many faces and depend on the situation witch mask will appear. As well as society and what's acceptable. And thou shall live happily ever after.
