This review is from: The Book of Wisdom: Discourses on Atisha's Seven Points of Mind Training (Hardcover)
I bought this treasure trove of wisdom a decade ago and I continue to read it (or parts of it) and it comes alive anew with each reading. Regardless of your past exposure to the topic of Lojong, there are many previously undiscovered jewels in here. The writing style is direct, conversational, nonacademic, and accessible, regardless of your experiences with dharma. When I read it, I feel like the author is speaking directly to me. With such writers, the profundity they are conveying may at times be missed because the presentation is so clear and direct. This author's mastery of the subject is easily perceived.
Lojong is a beautiful method of developing your heart-mind and overcoming the negative attitudes and habits that perpetuate negative karma and ultimately suffering. Many will know it as popularized by Pema Chodron. I am grateful to her efforts to bring this ancient gem to the West. Even if you have read all of her books, you will find a great deal of depth and new material in this book. Osho really penetrates into the heart of a thing and then paints us a picture, through words, so that we can have that experience too. His finger points directly to the moon.
I can't believe there's only 1 copy and its 157.00. I love this book so much that if I could sell it at 1,000 I would not. I'd rather sell my computer.
