This is a reprint of a 1936-original. It has a brief four-language introduction (german, english, french and spanish) and presents over 30.000 wood names. It was put together with German thoroughness and it is nice to have this back in print. However the user should note that current wood name databases contain well over 100.000 names (try the USDA FPL-site) and that quite a few of the botanical names have changed. In common with all such listings this book does not report the language the name is used in, nor the derivation.
