Worthless hunk of plastic,

I bought this item hoping to consolidate my many cables into one docking solution for my Macbook. When I received it, I was surprised at how cheap the devices felt...a shoddy molded piece of plastic with some connectors. I was expecting something more substantial that didn't feel like an empty shoebox. While it initially worked fine for about a week, the backside USB hubs became unresponsive. They would lose power spontaneously and require a reboot to restore. Then, they would cut out during a sync with my iPhone or during a Time Machine backup to my USB drive.
A total waste of money. Avoid at all costs!

Do not waste your time and money with this product. Going on two weeks of use and my mouse, keyboard, printer, and monitor lose connection at least twice a day. Start up and shut down took forever. You're better going with a good usb hub and a velcro-tie for your cables, much cheaper and will work better. I'm now on day 3 with out using the bookendz and my macbook and peripherals are working great!

I thought this would be an excellent upgrade for my Mac Book since I use it as a desk top replacement; but it didn't work as expected, the monitor flickered & the usb ports were slow to respond when peripherals were attached: now I just want to get rid of it. The seller was OK to deal with, but the product is what it is.
