A decent look-up reference, with a fairly detailed index to plate numbers that makes finding a particular piece generally quick and easy. The organization is by eras ((1900-1929, 1930-1941, etc.). The book has in some respects been superseded by Kuritzky's 'Collector's Encyclopedia of Bookends,' which is much more comprehensive, but the overlap is not complete. Worth owning.
