No Use for carpentry,
By A Customer
This review is from: Bookshelves and Cabinets (Bookshelves & Cabinets) (Paperback)
The book is just a bunch of pretty photographs. No how-to or what materials/how much to buy. Mainly for interior decorators.

Good design and project book for experienced craftsman,
By
This review is from: Bookshelves & Cabinets (Paperback)
This is not a book for novices, and that is the appeal here. No slap-dash weekend projects, this book is slim and does give all of the instructions needed. There's enough information to guide the motivated handy-person through built-in furniture making or room reconstruction. The book is not for the meek, but those equipped with decent tools and patience.

Good reference for wood types,
This review is from: Bookshelves and Cabinets (Bookshelves & Cabinets) (Paperback)
This book is one of the few on the market that gives a comprehensive breakdown of the different qualities of wood and plywood available.
The clear figures and inventory of techniques that included definitions of highly specialized terms enabled me, a novice, to communicate with experienced woodworkers. Now I'm confident arriving at the lumber yard, because I have already considered exactly the right product I need for the project at hand. |
