5.0 out of 5 stars No Doubt - Boom Box - A splendid collection!
No Doubt, one of this generations most eclectic, exciting and energetic rock/pop groups takes a breathtaking look back at their troubled but glorious career of nearly the past two decades in this exceptional boxed set containing their best material and a wonderful look & listen to some of those songs that weren't widely released.

When it gets down to it, No Doubt is one...

2.0 out of 5 stars missing soooo much
as a no doubt fan since 93, i find that this set hardly lives up to it's name. where are the singles from "beacon street" ? (and their b sides?!?), where are the early tracks from the various ska compilations they appeared on? where are tracks from the early demo tapes?? certainly these things would be of great interest to all no doubt fans to have compiled but...

No Doubt, one of this generations most eclectic, exciting and energetic rock/pop groups takes a breathtaking look back at their troubled but glorious career of nearly the past two decades in this exceptional boxed set containing their best material and a wonderful look & listen to some of those songs that weren't widely released.

When it gets down to it, No Doubt is one of the best groups to come of age in the past decade and it is a pure joy to listen to their eclectic brand of music. Many accolades and congratulations go to Gwen Stefani, Tony Kanal, Tom Dumont, Adrian Young and Eric Stefani (1986-1995) for being who they are and for bringing such an incredible collection of music together for their millions upon millions of faithful fans! Hopefully ten years hence, we'll be able to pick up an entire new collection paying tribute to this outstanding group of individuals for another tens years of success!

No Doubt The Singles 1992-2003

This is also something that can be bought separately or with this collection. This is the quintessential CD containing No Doubt's most popular and successful songs from 1992-2003. Simply put, no music collection that contains any of No Doubt's CD's is complete without this "Greatest Hits" CD! It's a "Hella Good" CD!

No Doubt Everything In Time (B-Sides, Rarities, Remixes)

It is no wonder that the B-Sides and Rarities weren't the songs that brought No Doubt to the popular acclaim that they now enjoy today however; this CD does contain an exceptional "look back" at what they were building towards. The Rarities are "that much" more exceptional additions to this CD, especially "Oi To The World" which is also performed on the Live DVD! As with "The Singles" CD, this is an outstanding addition to your music library!

No Doubt The Videos 1992-2003

For a fan like me, this is a wonderful DVD to have in that, long ago, when MTV turned into an overly commercialized and serialized channel, I gave up on it and therefore have not really had the opportunity to see many of these great No Doubt videos. Seeing the majority of these videos for the first time is an incredible experience that also makes one wonder why Gwen Stefani hasn't been given or taken up the opportunity to act as she clearly has the "showmanship" skills which she proudly displays in these videos!

No Doubt Live in the Tragic Kingdom

A lot of groups out there can be and are quite exceptional when it comes to their studio recordings but are somewhat lackluster when it comes to their live shows; there is "no doubt" that No Doubt is "not" one of those groups. They clearly put on one of the best live shows I've ever watched, making me wish that I had a chance to go to one of their concerts! As a whole, the entire group is exceptional, individually; Gwen Stefani is the one who makes No Doubt the superstar group that they are. It's a pure wonder to me why she hasn't pursued an acting career as she easily puts on one heck of a show, rocking the fans with her exceptional voice and expressive features. This DVD alone makes the entire purchase of "Boom Box" worth the price!

As one might have surmised by now, I highly recommend this boxed set to any and all fans of No Doubt! This "is" one of the best collections ever put together for a group of this caliber! This is also a "Limited Edition" release, so time is truly of the essence if you want to pick this treasure up. {ssintrepid}

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Box Set In Years, November 26, 2003
This review is from: Boom Box (Audio CD)
If you only purchase one box set this season, the No Doubt Boom Box box set is well worth every cent. It is a steal at the price it is listed. The first disc includes all of the singles on the current release No Doubt Singles 92-2003--including the new smash "It's My Life." Disc two is all of the videos, this is a must have especially since the videos only DVD is not being released anytime soon, which makes this box set even sweeter. The videos look awesome in DVD format. Disc three includes some really sweet rarities including a re-mix of "New" that I had not heard before. Disc four is the concert DVD "Live from Tragic Kingdom." I am so pleased with this set, I haven't been so pleased with a purchase in years. The box set also includes a thick full color booklet that features song descriptions and lyrics and also information about the videos. My only complaint is it would have been nice to have the DVD's in keepsake boxes, but the packaging is nice. Get this set while you can!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic - worth every penny, December 26, 2003

I love No Doubt, so am a little biased, but hey.

Disc One: Is the singles, you've heard them on the radio, you know how good they are already.

Disc Two: ALL the videos! Including "It's My Life", even though it's not listed on the box. Fantastic.

Disc Three: "Everything In Time" - b-sides and rarities. This CD is great, has 9 excellent out-takes from the Return of Saturn Sessions, plus some other rare stuff. However, it finishes on a sour note - three shockingly bad remixes that destroy the original songs. They should have been replaced by more rare tracks like "You're The Boss", "Love To Love You Baby", "Almost Blue" and the b-sides from the Beacon Street singles. Still, what's there is excellent.

Disc Four: Live In The Tragic Kingdom DVD - a great souvenir for anyone who has seen No Doubt live, and a chance to see what you missed if you haven't.

Don't just think about it - buy it! Also check out The Beacon Street Collection, quite possibly No Doubt's best album.

I love this little collection! Completely worth every dime! It is really cool, because you get the Singles CD which is fun to listen too, and the Everything in Time CD, which features rare and B-Sides tracks, which are amazing and great just like every other No Doubt song. Also the two DVD's are tons of fun... I loved seeing all of the music videos they ever made, because I hadn't seen many of them, being I was in elementary when many of them came out. And the concert was loads of fun to watch, because you get to experience the concert with out actually going. A must have for every No Doubt fan ever!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Real Love Survives A Rock Steady Vibe, December 26, 2003
This review is from: Boom Box (Audio CD)
This has to be one of the best greatest hits-esque box sets out there today! It has 2 DVDs and 2 CDs. The first "The Singles 1992-2003" is a very decent and pretty complete collection of No Doubt's singles. Their latest single, "It's My Life" is included here, also. It is a great cover single, with a very fun 80's-ish feel to it. I like how they included "Trapped In A Box" on here, too. The next disk is a DVD with all of No Doubt's music videos. They are all cool and crazy. Although it is not listed, the music video for "It's My Life" is on here. Just click "Play All" and it is the first video shown. The next disk is a collection of "B-Sides, Rarities, Remixes". The remixes at the end are the best. The other material is pretty mediocre, with the occasional stand-out. The last and final disk is their "Live In The Tragic Kingdom" on DVD. I'm not one to judge concert footage, because I, personally, do not find concert footage very exciting. There is a great little book inside with some cool pictures and lyrics to all of the songs on "The Singles 1992-2003", some cool pictures, and a little story behind each single. It's very cool. This collection overall is very fun, and is sure to brighten your day. I really recommend it, especially to all you other No Doubt fans out there. This is very very very very cool. ENJOY!!!!!

I'm a pretty big fan of No Doubt, but I haven't had the chance to see them live yet. The show they put on in Anaheim (Disc 4 in this set) is simply amazing and there's no way I'll miss them again. The singles collection is fantastic and is the same disc that's being released separately. The videos DVD is also a treasure. There are a lot of videos that I never caught, like "Oi to the World," and it was also good to see the classics once more. The B-sides are really well done, and my favorites are Big Distraction, Leftovers, Beauty Contest, and Sailin' On.

If you are a fan of No Doubt, get this box set immediately. Amazon's price is amazing, too.

4.0 out of 5 stars I just bought it......, December 27, 2003

I must say that I think its great to have the singles cd, all of the videos, the rare tracks, and the Live in Tragic Kingdom all in one package. I have been a huge fan of No Doubt ever since Tragic Kingdom came out. Then I went out and bought their first two cds and own the other two cds that were released later on. So honestly buying just the singles cd for me wouldnt cut it since I have all of those songs. But what caught my eye is having the videos on dvd....which I have been looking for for quite some time. I also like the fact that there are songs that havent been put on any of their previous cds. "Beauty Contest" and "Full Circle" are some of my favorites that weren't released. If you are a true No Doubt fan, this box set is for you. If you kinda like the music, then I would say stick to just the singles cd.

4.0 out of 5 stars A solid collection for new fans and old., December 30, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Boom Box (Audio CD)
Whether you're a new fan of No Doubt, or an old one, this collection is a solid set. Most notable are the rare tracks and the collection of videos. Appreciable is the live concert recording of Tragic Kingdom, at Anaheim Arrowhead Pond, 1997. The singles CD is nice as an item, if only to have all the hits on one disc and round out your collection with an official compilation (not the burned one you've all been using). The one thing that would have made this set complete is the Rock Steady Live DVD, and perhaps a similar live compilation of the Return of Saturn tour. Some sort of retrospective or behind-the-scenes from the band would have been nice, as well. However, being that the band has stated this is not a "farewell" boxed set, it is forgiveable that those things aren't present.

Unsurprisingly, the b-sides and rare tracks offer probably the greatest incentive to buy this set, aside from the video collection, of course. One wonders why some of the songs were never studio releases; for a collection of "b-sides" there is certainly much worthy material present (and, to be truthful, a few that were right to be shelved). But probably the greatest pull lies in the "rarities" tracks, (all but two of which this reviewer has never found or seen elsewhere) unlike the b-sides which have been released at one time or another online or as foreign singles.

The bottom line: it isn't the definitive collection, but it is exactly what the band said it would be, a collection of more than a decade of work, and the culmination of an era in their musical career.
