Okay, two things you need to know: 1) I did NOT buy this through amazon. I got it for $10 bucks as a Point of Purchase item at Walmart on Thanksgiving Eve. 2) I'm addicted to small things and am a natural born sucker for Small-Smaller-Smallest anything.

Now, for the review. I LOVE THIS FRICKIN' THING!!!! Walmart had every colour so I had to pick up the girly one with turquoise and leopard fur wrap-around. I had seen the ad for this speaker the night before, advertizing it being sold at Walgreens, Target, Walmart, etc, so I thought "Hey, it was a lousy $10 bucks! And Walmart has an amazing return policy. It was a No-Brainer to Buy It & Try It."

What would you like to know? Packaging was fabulous, easy to extract everything, which included a micro USB cord, the bitsy speaker...and...wait for it...INSTRUCTIONS...in ENGLISH!!!! I've read so many 1 star reviews of the Kindle Fire where posters have complained about the lack of an instruction manual for a $300 item. Here's a ten buck speaker, and there are clear, concise and very easy to understand instructions on both sides of the paper. Tells you how long to charge, the speaker has THREE coloured lights to tell you what is going on: Red=Charge. Purple=Charging and playing at the same time. Blue=In use, not charging. And, the Red light actually turns OFF when charged!!! I don't know about you, gentle reader, but just the charging lights alone are worth ten bucks. You don't know how many items either don't have a charging light or the light stays on, forever.

By the way, the chain connecting the speaker to the clip is very light weight; I'd either remove it or use it sparingly. The ad shows a teen having it attached to a jean belt loop; I'd be afraid that one good knock would have you lose your speaker, for good.

I got this at the Military Base Exchange (like a Mall) today. I wanted to use it for my Old MacBook Laptop because the sound is not so loud. I have to use earphones to hear better. So now, this magical little device is perfect! I even tired it with my ipod and it was just as good. I was able to listen to music as I did some things at home for a few hours. A great replacement to the USB Speakers I got from Fry's electronics which was not loud at all at full max volume and it had a long chord that got tangled & 2 Bulky Speakers. I'm so happy with this mini speaker. Great Gift!

Well first off. The guy who reviewed that the sound was no louder , try turning it on. !!!
And no it does not clip and get distorted at all !!! surprisingly this lil guy cranks some good range and clean crisp sound .
This lil guy is absolutely Impressive ! Amazing sound , I have several mini speakers and many devices , I figured I would try this as it's the same size as the apple nano mp3 player , and the magic bullet is just too big to keep in the jacket pocket .
I truly expected the same ol tiny sound as all the hong kong lil triple A battery ones have , WOW. Was I impressed when I turned this thing on. Truly excellent sound , even with the iPod touch at full volume it never clipped or got distorted . So far the best lil aux speaker out of like 9 others I purchased .
Time will tell how long it lasts before the cord gets yanked out , that's about the only negative but all headphone wires go bad over time you just have to take care and not pull on it like a monkey ?

And the other review where bending the cord causes static , NO sorry that don't cause static , unless the wire is shorted inside , your jack is just dirty , bending the cord don't do anything .

Excellent lil boom box. !!!

After I found that the Music Bullet wouldn't work with my Sansa Clip+ for some reason, I decided to see about a new, portable speaker. While roaming Walmart today, I saw the Boom Cube, a 1 in.^3 size speaker, for a little under $11. My mother decided she'd buy it for me to test it out on my MP3 player. After about 5 minutes of use after I got home, I immediately repackaged it and told her to send it back for a refund.

The cube itself is a small, cutesy little speaker, measuring 1 inch in length, width, and height. It has a tiny switch on the bottom for power, as well as a small LED and a 3.5 mm jack with a very short cord. It also has a small carabiner on it for carrying on your belt loops or a backpack or purse. It comes with a USB charging cable (also very short) and a set of instructions on one sheet of paper, front to back. I should note that when you remove the speaker from the plastic shell, it says "Charge before use," but the instructions say to play it until it dies, then charge it for 8 hours. Note that this review will not test battery life, but for most people it won't matter. However, I will say that 3-5 hours of charge is pretty weak.

Now, based on what it was, I didn't expect much. However, I expected a heck of a lot more than I got. Before I decided to see if it would work for my MP3 player, I decided to test it with some music on my computer. I plugged it in the headphone jack, turned it on, put on "Get Lucky" by Daft Punk, and took a good listen. And immediately, I wished I hadn't.

Sound-wise, this is the worst speaker I've ever pumped music through. Ever. It is loud, so at least it does what it says it'll do, but because of this, the music sounds really distorted and nasty.
