P.T. Rocks! I really give this cd 3.5 stars, but you can't enter halves. This remastered cd of The Diamond Club(Toronto) show proves that Pat Travers still has all his chops and then some! The sparse production on this cd is a good thing! It sounds like they started with a quality recording and applied minimal post production. Near the beginning of the cd, the left channel seems to be louder than the right, but it evens out after about 2 songs. It may have just been me, but it was the same on the truck and home system. Anyhow, on with my review. The only part of this cd that did not hit the mark is the liner notes. Someone with a little more insight should have provided these. Or at least edited! It's Eric Frates!(You will understand this when you buy the cd!) Pat's lineup on this recording, which by the way is not listed in the credits, is rockin'! With the Mucho inspirational Mars Cowling laying down the bass line, you can hardly go wrong. Jerry Riggs supplies some killer backup vocals and guitar. And Scott Zymowski on the drum kit really hits the mark. The cd kicks off with Snortin' Whiskey and only improves from there. Travers & Company take about a song and a half to find their groove, but when they do...Back Up! The band is exceptionally tight on newer songs like Daddy Long Legs and Help Me, but they really cook on the older stuff. They pour out an awesome version of Born Under A Bad Sign. However, this recording of Stevie takes me back to Go For What You Know. I swear I got chills! As usual, Pat's between song banter is minimal, but on the mark. The intro to Heat In The Street is especially funny! The cd has 14 tracks and clocks in at over 69 minutes. It is devinitely worth getting NOW!
