Book Description

January 1, 2009
Private Investigator Tony Caruso lives out of his rolling office, an old Ford pickup truck, with his German-trained bomb-sniffing dog, Panzer, a Giant Schnauzer. Tony retired after twenty years in the Navy as an aviation ordnance man, but this training might not be enough when he is hired by an old friend to look into a murder suicide in Bend, Oregon, a resort in the high desert east of the Cascades. Was it a murder suicide as the local sheriff thinks? Or has this idyllic community been ripped apart by not only murder but scandalous sexual deviance, lust, jealousy and the quest for the almighty dollar? Follow Tony as he wades through a cast of characters as diverse as the Oregon landscape to solve this mystery.

Review

"Fast action and good characterizations make this launch title of a new imprint a good summer read."—Library Journal

"Trevor Scott manages another winner with this exciting tale set in the middle of the Cascade mountain range on the Northwest. His take on the real estate boom of California millionaires invading this idyllic space is on the money. Real estate and computer companies seem to be the big money makers on the West Coast, and the opportunity for fraud, bullying, and theft seems to be the order of the day. Scott's background and knowledge of all things relating to bombs puts him in the driver's seat, and the reader is the fortunate recipient of an excellent plot, well-crafted characters, and constant action. BOOM TOWN is Trevor Scott's second foray in the P.I. series, after the excellent Jake Adams International Thriller Series. He never fails to please."Midwest Book Review

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good!, December 6, 2011

This was my first read by this author and was pleased enough with it... Especially for this low price. As I'm quite current with the big name authors and won't pay exorbitant prices for new releases which are often (sadly) sounding like they are rolling off the conveyer belt, trusting their fame will sell the book, I've been trying many .99 cents authors. I was not disappointed by this book and have purchased two more which I'm eager to begin. Was an easy and quick read, and the author knows what he talks about. I recommend this book for pure easy and casual entertainment, not for you if you like deep complicated story lines.

I happened onto Trevor by chance. Looking for another author in the range of Baldacci, Nichols, Sandford etc. I found this interesting enough to read another one. I do not like to be to praising or critical as I am not an author or renowned literary critic. So try this author and be your own judge.
