1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
I found this book at a flea market while on vacation, so only paid $3.00 for it. Glad that's all I paid, because I found myself very disappointed in it. I suppose that I should say that I only read about a quarter of it before putting it down. Some might say that I should have read the whole thing before posting a review, but I couldn't even bring myself to waste...

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, October 22, 2011
This review is from: Boom! Voices of the Sixties (Hardcover)
I found this book at a flea market while on vacation, so only paid $3.00 for it. Glad that's all I paid, because I found myself very disappointed in it. I suppose that I should say that I only read about a quarter of it before putting it down. Some might say that I should have read the whole thing before posting a review, but I couldn't even bring myself to waste anymore time on this one.

Too much of the book seemed to be limited to the personal recollections of the author. While I'm sure Tom Brokaw has had a very interesting life, filled with meeting lots of interesting people, I was expecting a little more. Maybe because I had just finished reading David Halberstam's book 'The Fifties' about that decade, which I found well written, informative and just a generally good read. Not so much with 'Boom!'

To me, there just wasn't enough there. This one is going in my pile for donation to the library.
