Boombox Portable Speaker System for iPod Player

I have had two of these and BOTH of them just quit working in less than 3 months. No power, no sound, nothing. The first one I took back and they were great about replacing it. The second one they said I couldnt return but I could call customer service. Sure, no thanks.

I thought it was a great option until the second time during class it just quit working. After being stuck without a workable ipod player twice, I will never use this product again!

We have the IPOD Touch and just picked one of these up yesterday at Brookstone in the mall. This is the best I have come across at this price ($99). I love that the IPOD sits inside an enclosed window and is very secure...it does not wiggle or move around at all. The sound is loud and met all my expectations. It has a small remote, runs on batteries or A/C adaptor. Has a handle at the top for carrying it around, will be great for the beach. I like how the controls at the top of the boombox operate the Ipod and you don't ever have to pull the IPOD out of the boombox. I am very impressed and very pleased with my purchase.

This is a great sounding and well-made sound system. I love the fact that it protects the Ipod Touch. Friends that have listened to it are impressed. I do get some ribbing over the whole boom-box look. They think I should be carrying it on my shoulder.

I haven't used the battery capability and so can't comment on that.

This Boom Box admittedly seemed bigger then most iPod players but I liked that it was white and had a door that would enclose your iPod prorecting it from the elements like picnics or beach. I loved that it could be plugged in or run off batteries so we could take it anywhere. I bought it for my husband. My 21 year old daughter absolutely loved it and wanted one for her apartment as her stereo (since all her music is on her iPhone). I have since purchased two more for a total of three. It's a perfect stereo for the living room and boom box for beach and outdoor activities.

I bought the iPod Boombox for my husband at Amazon. My husband loves it. It rocks. The sound is great and it is portable so it is very convenient because our family is always on the go. He loves it and uses it in the garage, on our boat, and in our yard. We take it with us when we go camping and in our RV.

We had one of these from Brookstone. After much abuse it broke. Brookstone no longer carries them, so we ordered a second here. These are great because they don't have all the stuff we didn't want - no cd player, am/fm etc. Just IPOD. Who needs anything else??? But the best part of it was the sound quality. When we origianlly purchased it I compared the sound quality of all that was available and this one by far was the best - especially for the price. It's a shame to have all of this music on your ipod which is capeable of sounding amazing and using a cheap little player. I would HIGHLY recommend this product. It's easy to use, takes plenty of abuse (although we finally found it's limits), and the sound quality is amazing (I can't stress this part enough!).

I bought this unit for camping. Sounds good and the remote is nice to have to adjust volume while sitting around a campfire. I got mine at a Brookstone Outlet for $30, so I could not be happier.

I love this boombox because the sound is great and I like how the ipod is covered to help protect it from damage. Unfortunately the battery power stopped working shortly after I received it which wasn't a big deal to me, but now it doesn't work at all. I didn't use it a lot so I wouldn't say it 'wore' out. It just started to turn off after a few seconds and then no power at all. I bought a new power cord and nothing. It's just dead. If it lasted longer I would have given it the highest possible score, but it broke for no apparent reason with light use. Definitely not worth the money.

You can always find a boombox that plays CD's and plays them loud, but I 've been looking for a boombox to play my IPOD for quite awhile now and they are not equipped to play very loud. This one puts out 18w per channel, unheard of. Finally someone made a box that can play IPODS at a party. I take mine to the beach a lot and the protective sheid for the IPOD is great keeping out sand and dirt

Nice unit with full rich sound. A separate tweeter would have helped with the high end, but still this unit sounds good and plays loud. A really neat design that unlike many of these docks, is easy to move around from place to place due to the built in handle and the unique ipod mounting system. Has a nice remote that clips onto the back when not in use, so you don't lose it. The fact the ipod is under glass means even in dirty environments, it stays clean. I only wish it had an am/fm radio and then it would get five stars. Runs on eight D cell batteries as well as the AC cord so you can take it anywhere.
