5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious
I laughed so hard that I was crying! I was truly surprised at how easy this book is to read. Having turned 50 last year, I could relate to most of it already and it somehow made me feel better to know that I'm not the only one slowly falling apart. 1.0 out of 5 stars A waste of good paper
We bought this book thinking it would make a great gift for somebody approaching "over the hill-dom" After reading it, however, all I found is the rantings of some very bitter people trying to cover their fear with "humor." Linda Stasi's contribution is as trite, flat and childish as her NY Post column. It isn't a total loss though--we plan on...

I laughed so hard that I was crying! I was truly surprised at how easy this book is to read. Having turned 50 last year, I could relate to most of it already and it somehow made me feel better to know that I'm not the only one slowly falling apart. It was a marvelous little "what to expect in the future" book written in a humorous way. I especially found the chapter about the AARP hilarious since I had received my first query from them when I was 35 and was never able to get them off my back. I finally gave in and joined. All the boomers in my office, and that's 6 out of 7 people, have enjoyed it as well and want to purchase copies for their collections. Boomer Babes is definitely a must read for any woman approaching 50. Thanks to Linda Stasi and Rosemary Rogers for finding the humor in growing older and sharing it with us.

4.0 out of 5 stars This one is a MUST READ for women approaching 5-0!, August 6, 1998

My flight across the country was hysterical because I read the entire book...twice! My husband wanted to know why I was laughing out loud...but these authors have put some humor into this "getting more experienced" deal! All of my friends laugh reading the cover, so my Christmas list is nearly complete! Thanks ladies for your insights and wisdom.

5.0 out of 5 stars insightful and hilarious, May 2, 1999

As a fifty year old male,I was curious about how my female counterparts view relationships between the sexes. The book was eye opening and a fast read. It overflowed with wit that struck home! I intend to buy this book for several friends who will identify with both the authors and the subjects. Given stasi's professional background, I knew that she is incapable of writing a boring book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must read for every women approaching "50", June 12, 1998

I have not laughed so hard in a long time. This book gives hope to the maturing women of our generation. To realize that feelings and dreads locked inside are completely normal and shared with "600,000 women" approaching 50 was reassuring. This book takes the reader step by step, issue by issue through the probabilities and the possibilities of midlife with directness and humor. I have purchased several copies to give as gifts. It is the perfect " turning 50" present, and will become a book kept instead of passed on. Boomer Babes needed to be written and will be an inspiration and a relief to the women coming of age.

This book is wonderful, at the age of 52 I find myself agreeing on most points in this book. This is a wonderful age and with the number of boomer babes in this country right now, we could hold a revolution of our own and make Hollywood and the advertising industry and the country realize that we aren't going quietly "over-the-hill". I have recommend this book to my friends, both women and men. It's funny, insightful, sexy, groovy and right on.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hysterical!, November 20, 2004
This review is from: Boomer Babes: A Woman's Guide to the New Middle Ages (Paperback)
I thought this book was hilarious. Could have been my frame of mind or frame of reference - - I noticed a couple of other reviewers who were NOT amused by it. But I'm a "boomer babe" and just turning 50 and this book cracked me up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book for Women over 50!, January 19, 2004

I loved this book! Has great advice for women, written in a very, very funny way!

I read the comment by the folks who said these women were bitter. You must be a bunch of old fogies!

These women write in a hip style, and sometimes say things in a tongue-in-cheek manner.

4.0 out of 5 stars Encouraging, Funny, and Even Inspiring!, July 31, 2003
This review is from: Boomer Babes: A Woman's Guide to the New Middle Ages (Paperback)
This one is a fast seller in our bookstore. Every time we get a copy of it in stock, out the door it goes, and with good reason!

The authors offer suggestions on staying young that are just what you were looking for, but were afraid to ask about, or admit!
(An example: the chapter entitled "Menopause: Is it Hot in Here, or is it Just Me?")

The only reason we are not rating this book five stars, is because we think there are a couple of chapters that are a TINY bit short on actual how-to information. But ALL the chapters offer at lease SOME good advice, AND give you a laugh at the same time.

I was very dissappointed in this book. If you are an unhappy, urban, power-hungry, man-hater, then this is the book for you. I expected a little more humor that would apply to a broad range of people, but this book doesn't. I didn't even finish it.
