Laurie A. Helgoe, Ph.D., has practiced and taught as a clinical psychologist for 13 years. She has focused her practice on helping clients thrive in the intimate space of relationships. I really enjoyed this book. It's great to know I'm not the only one out there facing these issues. The material was presented in a very readable style. I read the whole book in one sitting even though it is over 200 pages. I'm sure a lot of the things discussed by other boomers will come to mind when I need them most.

I recommend this book for anyone facing dating, whether they are a boomer or not.

This is a must read book! Anyone who is dating -- and even those already in an intimate relationship -- will be inspired by Dr. Helgoe's honesty and wisdom. With the divorce rate hovering around 50% for the last couple of decades, this book about reassimilating into the world of dating couldn't come at a more crucial time. Let's face it: those of us who haven't been in the game are socially inept (or worse). We need just what this book supplies, a basic how-to to remove the trauma from our first efforts toward new love.
