Great product but not completely safe,

The product is bright, colorful, and fun for little boys and girls. However, the balls in the set are made of PVC. They smell unbelievably horrible. And the smell transferred to other items. I had to wash everything thoroughly with soap and throw away the balls. The smell made me sick. Without the balls, it made a great product. The shapes and scrubbies are BpA-free, PVC- free, phthalate-free.

Great Bath Toys,
This review is from: Boon Bath Goods (Baby Product)
I got this for my 1 yr old daughter for Christmas because she was starting to not like her baths. I took a chance on these vs letters, numbers. I thought these were more creative. She loved them, more than any of her other toys. She has learned her colors from them. She carries them around the house and she will not take her bath without them.

A Boon to Bath Time,
This review is from: Boon Bath Goods (Baby Product)
My daughter loves the odd shapes, variety of colors, and the magical quality attached to being able to attach and detach these from the tiles. The material is solid, but pliant -- ideal for teething children and safe for toddlers still getting adjusted to fine and gross motor skills. And, added bonus, you won't at all mind them if they happen to still be present when it's your turn to bathe -- I occasionally leave impressionistic hieroglyphs for the wife.
In short, a purchase that you will not regret.

Great!,
This review is from: Boon Bath Goods (Baby Product)
I love these! I thought they were a great alternative to the typical alphabet foamies used in the bath. I was a bit concerned about the balls as I had read that they once contained PVC. I contacted Boon directly through their website and this is what they responded back with:
"To answer your question about the Boon Bath Goods, the shapes and the scrubbies in the Bath Goods are BpA-Free, Phthalate-free, and PVC-free. The following details the materials that our Bath Goods are made of: ~ The Bath Goods shapes are made of EVA foam. ~ The scrubbies are made of polyethylene. ~ The original Bath Goods bath balls are BpA-free and Phthalate-free. They're made out of a type of PVC which has been tested for all of the dangerous phthalates as called out by California and other state laws. Because of consumer concerns about PVC in general, we are now including a different type of bath ball in our new Bath Goods sets. The new ball is BpA-free, Phthalate-free, and PVC-free. Again, the original bath ball does not contain any phthalates that have been identified as being harmful... The older version has a matte finish and the new balls are shiny." Also, if you have purchased the older version with matte balls and are concerned, I would suggest contacting Boon directly as they are likely to ship you the newer PVC-free balls to replace your old balls. Great product & Great company!

My baby has loved these. He seems to enjoy the variety of shapes and colors. I love that they don't have little holes in them to collect water and mold. They will be easy to keep clean and they are easy for him to grip and play with.

My 8-month old could chew small pieces off,
This review is from: Boon Bath Goods (Baby Product)
I took this away from my child today because he was chewing on one of the scrunchy things (for washing, some kind of fine woven nylon) and the fabric was coming apart, creating fine strands that he could have swallowed (and he only has 4 bottom teeth. I then tested the foam pieces and was able easily to bite off a little chunk.
These are attractive toys, but I'm not sure they're safe for kids who like to chew.

Great toys - however the balls are made from PVC and contain phthalates,

I purchased these bath toys recently. The toys are fantastic. The foam pieces stick to the tiles and kids love to stick them up and take them back down again. It comes with 15 sticky foam toys, two scrubbies and three balls. I also purchased the toy bug which stores the toys (which is also great).
One point to be aware of is that the set contains three balls which are made from PVC and contain small amounts of phthalates (chemicals which are linked to developmental disorders). The toys still pass new federal toy standards and safety standards in CA. Despite this, Boon (who seem great and proactive in these types of matters) are currently releasing a new version where the three balls do not contain phthalates. All of the other toys in the set are safe and BPA and phthalate free. Just make sure the set you buy is one of the newer ones without the PVC balls.

Chemical smell too strong, couldn't use with 14m baby,

I received this item in March 2011. As soon as I opened the package I could smell a very strong chemical-like smell that seemed to have permeated all of the contents. The smell reminded me a bit of a varnish-y type of smell, and was so strong that I could not imagine being able to wash it off. I returned this item as the scent was so strong that I was not comfortable giving it to my 14 month old to use in the bath. The designer applique aspect of these toys only warrants it getting a rating of the (required) one star in my opinion, as the smell makes them unusable.

Good and different bath toy that baby loves!,

These foamy odd-shaped different colored bath toys are absolutely loved by my 6 month old son. He loves the balls that come with the set as well. He wants to play with every piece he happens to see, so even if he's already got a ball in one hand and another toy in the other he will try to grab a third! The only thing I noticed negative about them was that many of the shapes have long skinny parts that my son had gagged on once or twice, so I only let him play with the few more rounded ones for now until he gets a bit older. Other than that, great bath toys - easy to clean up since they don't retain water or even drip much and the baby is fascinated by them.

Great bath fun!,
This review is from: Boon Bath Goods (Baby Product)
My 10 month old really enjoys playing with these. They stick to the tub well and they don't hold water. We wanted some toys that wouldn't mildew but were still fun to play with. His favorite are the 3 balls.
