5.0 out of 5 stars Advice for those having trouble with it falling
First, we've had ours up for several months now without issue, and LOVE it. It drains well, since it's hard plastic it doesn't mildew, stores the shampoo bottles, and his toes are great for hanging things (poofs, toys, etc).

2.0 out of 5 stars Did not stick!
We unfortunately bought this before reading the reviews. We followed the directions perfectly and it fell off within 10 hours. So we are going to try what another reviewer said, double sided sticky tape and see if that works. If not we will be returning it which is really a shame because it's really cute and a big space saver for our small bathroom. They should really...

5.0 out of 5 stars Advice for those having trouble with it falling, June 6, 2006
This review is from: Boon Pod Bath Toy Scoop, Green Frog (Baby Product)
First, we've had ours up for several months now without issue, and LOVE it. It drains well, since it's hard plastic it doesn't mildew, stores the shampoo bottles, and his toes are great for hanging things (poofs, toys, etc).

BUT, you cannot allow the double stick tape to cross a grout line (or similar indentation, if you have a molded tub/shower surround). Doing so allows water/air behind the tape and it will lose grip! This could be an issue if you have small tile. It is possible to cut the tape so that it only attaches to complete tiles. Thankfully, my shower has 4" x 4" tiles so this was not an issue.

Hopefully that'll help someone!

Edit: Almost one year later - still holding strong! We've had no issues with it falling at all (and it's LOADED!). LOVE it!

And another edit (10/13/08): So, a year and a half later, our luck ran out. Last night our frog fell and scared the bejeezers out of me. Again, it was very fully loaded (the entire tub is now full of toys/scrubbies/shampoo bottles). Honestly, I'll be looking into options to re-adhere it. We love it too much to let having to re-hang it every couple years deter us from continuing to use it!

Edit 10/27/08: So, 2 weeks after it finally fell off the wall (2.5 years after we'd first hung it) - it's back up and thus far doing fine. I found a 3M Command product made specifically for "high humidity areas" (showers, etc) and decided to give 4 of those strips a try. So far, so good.

Edit 11/11/09: A year later it's still doing great with the 3M Command strips, and still keeping the tub toys organized!

Edit 10/19/10: 2 years w/ the 3M Command strips and it's still like new!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow! Finally a bath storage system that works perfectly., August 28, 2006
This review is from: Boon Pod Bath Toy Scoop, Green Frog (Baby Product)
First, let me say that we bought this product last year before it even came out. We were on a wait list for almost two months with Baby Outfitters. I had been looking for a new bath storage system because my son thinks the bathtub is the best thing next to Disney Land. So he always has a lot of toys in the tub and none of the other storage systems had worked. When we got it, I was totally shocked by its size. My first thought was OMG! Am I going to put this GIGANTIC GREEN FROG up in my bathroom? LOL. But the scoop, rinse, and store feature was too tempting so I followed the directions exactly and installed it that night.

I started with a clean, dry bathtub. We didn't use that bathroom and let the adhesive *cure* for at least the time specified and we have had NO problems with the system. I'm actually worried that it'll never come off! I have it installed on tile and its a bumpy tile AND because of the size of my tile, it does overlap the grout a bit so I'm actually a bit perplexed as to why others are having so much trouble with it staying on. All I can say is that I followed the directions as well as I could and it's a rock solid install.

As for the bucket, it did take me a couple of times to get used to hooking the bucket back into the base but once you get it, its easy. The bucket is HUGE. My son has 3 rubber trucks and six big rubber ducks and they all fit into the bucket with room to spare for all of his foam letters and numbers and several other toys and body scrubbers. Tons of room! Yeah!

And its so easy to scoop and rinse that my four year has been cleaning after his bath for almost a year. Now I don't have to spend ten minutes each night after his bath picking up all the letter, numbers, and ducks. Yeah! And it stores all of HIS shampoos and bubble baths and body washes so that I can easily keep them separate from our stuff. This way, it was simple to tell him that he could only use the products on his frog and I didn't have to worry that he'd get into my expenisive shampoo if I had to walk away for a second.

And its very well ventilated. Everything is dry by the next night because his body scrubber thing is dry when he dumps it out every night. That was one of my biggest concern...that everything would mildew in there. But I do live in a very dry climate so that helps too but it is very well ventilated. The holes are pretty big and there are plenty of them. Also, I don't know if this would make a difference to anyone else but the plastic is a very solid, matte plastic. So it doesn't show stains or water drops and feels well...solid.

Overall, its one of three baby/kid products that I have absolutely no complaints about and can recommend without any reservations. I'm a gearhead and pretty darn picky. To illustrate how picky I am, I've bought eight car seats and twenty three strollers for my lonely only (who is only four!) because I'm so picky. Thank you Boon!

Update: We tried the sticky tape and it stayed for about a week and fell again. So we took it back.

4.0 out of 5 stars Yes, the hit-or-miss sticky tape... But so dang cute!, August 30, 2006
This review is from: Boon Pod Bath Toy Scoop, Green Frog (Baby Product)
Like many other reviewers, I had problems with the FrogPod tumbling off the shower wall -- and it's a smooth surface, no grout issues to blame. But after really muscling it onto there, the stick-or-not-to-stick issue disappeared...

And it's PRECIOUS! And USEFUL! (And how many failed baby products can you say both about?)

Handiness: Pluck off the basket, dump toys in bath, then scoop them up, rinse the works under the faucet and rehang for mildew-less drying. (Frankly, a tumble or two after I first hung it was far less hassling than the suction-cupped toy nets that never seem to consistently suck, just consistently SUCK.)

Styling: Adorable! Insanely precious! The FrogPod is for kids, sure, but the design is clean, modern, and simply fun; just try stepping into the shower without smiling at the thing! Having children means having some clutter and some items that fall outside your aesthetic, but the FrogPod both reduces the clutter and does so with a playful design. Would that ALL products for kids could...

4.0 out of 5 stars Where's the love?! Krazy Glue Holds It To Wall!, January 7, 2007
This review is from: Boon Pod Bath Toy Scoop, Green Frog (Baby Product)
We love our frog pod! It is actually so big we were rolling laughing when it arrived. The drainage feature is great too, and it holds a lot of bath-sized toys (not huge ones). Ours fell off after a few weeks, which we knew from other reviews might happen, but we just Krazy Glued it back to the wall and it has been up for months now with no problems. Very easy fix, and no screw holes in the wall for a permanent mount!

5.0 out of 5 stars Frog Pod trouble...., June 30, 2006
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Boon Pod Bath Toy Scoop, Green Frog (Baby Product)
We had the same problem getting it to stick. We followed the directions to the T and it still fell. My husband finally wrote the company and they sent us several more of the adhesive backings with new directions. Apparently there is a longer waiting time then what the directions suggest and four pieces work better then the two they give you.

I still gave this 5 stars, because now it actually stays attached. And my daughter loves to take the frog off and use it in the pool. It floats well. She has a ton of toys in there now and no more problems with it.

So my suggestion is if you really want to buy it, be prepared to write the company. But it is worth it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Bath time necessity, February 28, 2006
This review is from: Boon Pod Bath Toy Scoop, Green Frog (Baby Product)
I recently purchased the Frog Pod for my 11 month old's bath toys, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! We tried nets that suctioned to the wall, but they just fell and didn't hold very much. I couldn't convince myself to order it online without seeing it first, then one day while out shopping I found it in a store and had to have it. Frog Pod is huge and well worth the money.

1.0 out of 5 stars If you can't beat 'em, join 'em..., March 30, 2007

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Boon Pod Bath Toy Scoop, Green Frog (Baby Product)
Like the others before me, I too read the reviews and thought people just didn't mount it correctly or follow the directions. So, I bought it anyawy thinking I was going to beat the system. I was slightly horrified at the size of it when it arrived, but proceeded to install it EXACTLY as instructed. I waited the suggested amount of time plus 12 hours, and put Jumbo Pod on it's mount, put a few toys in it and hung a little scrubby ball thing - not a lot of weight to say the least. Wasn't it exciting when the thing crashed down in the middle of the night causing the dogs to bark, our 17 month old to scream, and us wondering if we had been shot.

Tried the suction cup thing.... Oh well.

Now it sits in our hallway because Mommy is a dummy and threw the box away. It's really creepy late at night just sitting there....

5.0 out of 5 stars A Functional Toy!, October 15, 2006
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Boon Pod Bath Toy Scoop, Green Frog (Baby Product)
Finally, a bathroom organizer that works! The bucket on the frog has ample space to hold all the toys that my son has plus room for more (and we have LOTS of toys). I also like that I can rinse all of his toys off and none of them rest on the sides or bottom of the tub making it easy to clean. We get lots of compliments on the frog because of his functionality and good looks. I was a bit hesitant to purchase because of reviews about the frog not staying mounted but I have had none. I also used extra caution and rubbed my shower down an extra time with rubbing alcohol and allowed the base to remain adhered for 48 hours before attaching the frog and toy laden scoop. I have purchased more as both baby and birthday gifts.....go ahead, order & enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love It, August 26, 2006
This review is from: Boon Pod Bath Toy Scoop, Green Frog (Baby Product)
I love this product. Mine also fell down after 1 month, but I put it on the curve part of my tub too. I called boon and they were super and sent me out new tape. I put it on a flat surface of the tub and so far so good. Boon has excellent customer service!!!!!!
