From the Manufacturer

Sing it with us: "La Di Da Di. We Likes to Potty." Cartoon versions of grown-up toilets don't make kids want to use the potty. They make parents want to throw out tacky baby products. We went for modern, subtle, and smart. Boon's Potty Bench has two enclosed side storage spaces perfect for books, training supplies and wipes. The sturdy drawer slides out for fast, leak-free, easy clean-up. Close the lid and the whole thing turns into a large step stool. It even comes with a built-in toilet paper holder and removable, soft deflector that flexes where it counts. (Guys, you know what we mean.)

The splash guard is also not the best for boys;).

I had been looking at this product for a while but thought it was pricey.

Further, lowering the lid often pops the drawer out in the same way.

I did a ton of research on which potty chair would be perfect for daughter. I wanted something that would be comfortable for her to sit on and use. A lot of the cons I read for reviews on OTHER pottys out there were that they were too "flashy", hard to straddle or sit on, too tight on thighs, hard to clean, leaked pee, or were too easy to take apart for children - not the Boon Potty Bench!

I will start by saying the only con I ran into was that when we received the toilet, a piece of the bottom were it connects one of the storage compartments was broken - it wouldnt and doesn't affect the use of the potty and I could easily fix it with some tough glue - no biggie.

NOW, on to the good part! We got this toilet when my daughter was 14 months old (she is now 16 months) and she still LOVES this potty. She can sit on it by herself and she peed in it right away! The clean-up is sooo easy, unbelievably easy! It is a very sturdy potty bench. We leave it out at all times for her to access and she will climb all over the thing. I've had guests come over and not even realize there is a toddler potty in our livingroom - with that being said, as soon as you open it, it resembles the big potty, which is nice and I can see moving to the big potty as an easy transition. One more thing! I really wanted a potty that my childs thighs wouldn't get stuck in or have a plastic seperation piece in between her legs - this way she can use the potty longer if need be.

My 2 years old is doing well with this potty, but it does leave marks on his tush, as if the opening it too narrow for him. Otherwise this learning potty is just right. It doubles as a step for washing hands after, and it's sturdy enough to hold my husband. Did I mention easy to clean?

The Boon Potty Bench is sturdily built, but has major flaws.

It appears to have been designed for girls, with a flat seating surface. To compensate they added a pop-up flexible spoon-shaped extension for boys that slides into a slot on the drawer -- clearly an afterthought. A failed afterthought.

First, the flexible extension is tempting to play with and easily pushed aside. With frequently disastrous result.

Pressing down on the extension pops the drawer open, and leaves the extension caught under the seating surface. There is no catch on the drawer to prevent this from happening.

Further, lowering the lid often pops the drawer out in the same way. Again with nothing to prevent a baby from pulling it out the rest of the way.

Over time the flexible extension takes a "set", making it less likely to work for redirecting pee, more likely to be used to push the drawer open, and actually more likely to prop 'things' up so that pee goes further.

My experience is that about 2/3 of the time there is a pee disaster requiring significant clean-up. With enough pee on the bench surface, it ends up in the side storage compartments.

The large size might also be an issue in some rooms. We have otherwise-wasted space aside our sink, but this won't fit in most small bathrooms.

With a higher priced product like this one, you really buy into wanting it to work. But sadly it's far less functional than lower priced products.

Having a 2 year old I've seen many pottys on the market. What I LOVE about this one is you can put TP in one section and books in the other. It is VERY easy to slide the "bowl" in and out and to clean. I am SOOOOO glad that I spent a few more dollars and got this potty. I also like tha it can serve as a stool when she is ready to get on the bigger potty. Which we have been using it for lately and it's been great.

I love the look and the idea of it all. Its great to have his books right next to him and his whipes nO need to run around n get things. I thought the plastic pee guard was nice at first but when he was sit down it would get caught under him and hed pee everywhere. I have a daughter on the way I'm sure this will be much better for her

My son seems to do very well with this potty. The opening is big enough that he doesn't pee on the floor, and it's comfortable for him to sit on. My major complaint with this potty is that there really should be a lock on the pull-out tray. My son is at an age where he wants to "help" by pulling out the tray and either dumping it on the floor, or attempts to pour it into the toilet, which usually results in pee everywhere. It's extremely frustrating. I wish there was just a simple button that you had to push while pulling it out, which would make it hard for a toddler to open. Otherwise, it's a good product.

Looked all over for a potty chair that has basic functions and yet had the cup that would work with little boys. This is it! It's shaped, not flat so it actually helps funnel the urine into the potty, not spray and splatter all over their legs, the floor and whoever is close! Price is a little more then others, but worth it.

I spent the extra money for this item because it was the only potty I found that has a flexible pee guard for my son. I was worried he might hurt his privates with the typical hard plastic guards. Also, I read reviews for some seats that require kids to kinda of spread their legs to sit on the potty which is difficult when wearing pants. With this seat my son can just sit on it with his legs in front of him without removing his pants. It is a little high for him because he is a short 17 month old but I know he will grow into it. The only issue I have encountered is that my son sat on top of it with the lid down and peed and some of the urine went in the crack where the side storage covers slide up and down and it is impossible to get in there to clean, I had to lug this heavy, large thing in the tub and run water through it. Everything turned out fine and other than that it is a great product. You can't even tell it is a potty when closed up. It makes for a great step for children to reach the sink. I also like how it has a toilet paper roll holder. It will make my son feel mature when he gets older. One more thing that is annoying but necessary is that the toilet seat comes off so you can clean it but my son likes to pop it off all the time and I always have to put it back. I'm sure this won't be an issue for older children. Some reviews also said it might be difficult for kids to open and close the sliding side storage but if my child can do it I'm sure other children can. I would definitely recommend this product to everyone. The company donates a percentage to organizations that help children in need. This product also comes in a lime green color.

Update: It's been a year and my son prefers to use the Pourty Potty instead of this one.
