From the Manufacturer

Genius (There. We said it.) Squirt isn't just a spoon; it's a revelation. It takes baby food, removes the jar and the mess, packs it into a single utensil and with one squeeze- boom. You get easy, one handed feeding. Pop on the cap to seal food on-the-go. Caution: May cause gobbling and an uncontrollable appreciation for anything delicious.

It just makes feeding the baby *that* much easier.
R. Anderson
It is SO much cleaner than feeding with a traditional spoon because the food doesn't get all over the bottom of it or drip everywhere.

I will be giving one to everyone I know that is having a baby!

This is a fabulous spoon! Basically you stick the baby food in the spoon put the top on and go. So whether you're at the park the mall or a restaurant you just whip it out and you're ready to feed your little one!

For those that make your own food its super easy - just take it from what you have made and toss it in there. But if you are using store bought stuff you have to scoop it into the container (which can be a little bit of an extra step but really well worth it). I found that stage one and two foods come out of this quite easily. While it says it only holds 3 oz of food I've gotten 4oz jars of baby food into it.

The hole is small so stage three foods are a little tougher but they still come out. Homemade stuff comes out if you puree it enough (not big chunks) and homemade yogurt (or the store bought stuff too!) comes out fantastic.

Its so easy to keep your little one clean while out and about. Keeping the spoon itself clean is easy because the spoon head has a cap. And clean up after is fantastic just rinse it with hot water and all the food comes out!! I've never had to dig into it like I thought I would...

I can't say enough great things about this. Its made life easier when we're out and about and its so darn adorable. It comes in pink & orange. Its easy to prepare use and clean...you cannot go wrong with this purchase!

The concept of this product is great, and if it were the only one of its kind, I'd recommend it without reservation. However, there's a similar, competing product (also sold by Amazon) that I prefer over this one. It's clear, so you can see how much food remains in the handle and/or whether you need to tap it to bring down any food stuck to the walls of the container. In addition, it has volume markings, which are especially useful for mixing cereal or monitoring portions. Also, the Boon Squirt is not as easy to squeeze as the competing model. Both models have the same drawbacks, which are that the spoons are (1) hard, and (2) a little large for the mouths of the younger babies for which they're made (older babies eat thicker/more textured food, which would not be compatible with these products).

To be sure, the Boon Squirt is a good product. It's great for feedings on the go, and is an excellent way to minimize messes. However, unless fun, bright colors are of paramount importance to you, there's another option that's got a little more functionality.

Very happy with this spoon. It is great to use at home or on the go. We used it for two months only.

Pros:

1- Easy to use
2- Works great (One hand feeding no need for a cup and spoon)
3- Feedings are now easier, faster and cleaner (for a 6month old)
4- Easy to clean (No scrubbing needed and there are no hard to get to spots or food traps)
5- Does not stain: We used home made foods such as carrots puree etc and it did not stain the container/handle for a while. After prolonged use, the clear part of the container stained just a bit.

Cons:

1- Will only work with thin food/puree (so you will only use it for a span of 2-3months in your baby's life maybe more)
2- Does not have a full cap to cover all the spoon the underside stays exposed.
3- May have to refill food container if baby is hungry
4- Spoon may be too big for smaller babies
5- Container is not graduated for people who want to mix the food in the spoon container
6- Cannot teach your baby how to eat using this spoon.

I loved this spoon but wish it held more food. I was thinking of buying another as a gift but found them virtually unavailable, unless willing to pay outlandish price. I emailed Boon to ask about its availability. Their reply included this:
"We are making changes to Squirt to improve its overall function. During the transition to the improved spoon inventories are low unfortunately. Please look for the new Squirt spoon to be available in Mid 2013."

I love this spoon, but we only used it for a month or two. My daughter wasn't interested in being spoon fed and wanted to feed herself, so after a month or two using this we put it away and focused more on finger foods and only occasionally use it for yogurt or oatmeal.

Two problems:
-It obviously only works for pureed foods. Once we were onto finger foods or things with chunks it didn't work.
-If you're making your own food (as we did) you have to make sure it's a very smooth puree. Pea skins, little bits of mango that weren't totally pureed (I mean tiny little chunks that the blender missed and you wouldn't notice otherwise) can get stuck and make it hard to get the food out. I imagine this isn't an issue if you're using jarred food, but if you are making your own food it's something to keep in mind.

That said, I love the design, it's obviously of very high quality, it helps keep mealtimes much cleaner and easier, and it's very cute. Also, unlike the regular spoons my daughter did not try to grab this one, presumably because it was too big for her to grab. So consider how long you'll actually use it before buying.

We have the Boon Spoon and we love it!! It makes traveling so much easier!! My daughter is now almost 9 months old and I have used it in the car, shopping with my DD and even in airports and on planes for the past three months. But my favorite thing about it is being able to use it with my homemade baby food. I put the food through a food mill and freeze it in the Tovolo 12 cube square silicone trays (Tovolo 80-12007 Perfect Cube Silicone Ice-Cube Trays, Set of 2, Dark Blue) and two frozen cubes fit perfectly inside the Boon Spoon. Then I just pop it in the diaper bag where it defrosts as we are out and about and is ready to eat within a few hours. If she doesn't finish, the whole spoon gets tossed into the fridge and she can finish it at her next meal. The only tiny problem I occasionally have is when there isn't much food left in the spoon. If I don't hold the spoon almost vertical, air can puff out which results in little splatters. But I just hold my other hand over it so the splatter hits my palm (it's very small, just a drop or two). And if we are in a position where I can't do that or it's just too messy, we just don't finish every last drop. That very small flaw is much outweighed by the benefits of this spoon, at least for us. The spoon is a little deep but that doesn't bother my DD. It just takes her two times to get all the food off the spoon vs one time for the shallow, rubber tipped infant spoons we sometimes use at home. I gave the spoon five stars for the way we use it but if my frozen food would not fit in it, I may have reduced my rating since it seems like it could be a bit time consuming to have to spoon food into it and with the convenience of the pouches of baby food I don't know if it would be worth it to me personally.
