With the number of iPad cases I've been through, I could probably be a pretty good case designer myself. Here's a list of cases I've tried out(in some cases bought and returned):
Targus Truss
Griffin Standle
Quirky Cloak
Marware Eco-Flip
Macally Shellstand
Incase Convertible Magazine Jacket
I've come to the conclusion that the following are important for me:
-Good Typing Angle
-Ability to easily hold the iPad in one hand for taking notes in quick meetings
-iPad Protection
-Durability
-Adjustable viewing angle
-Lightweight construction
The Booq Boa Folio's major strong points are it's very durable construction, excellent typing angle, fairly low weight and high level of protection.
On the other hand, it only provides two positions for using the iPad on a flat surface, typing and landscape(I ended up getting a twelvesouth compass stand for when portrait mode is more convenient.) Moreover, the landscape position requires that you fold the folio back each time you want it in this position(this takes a bit of force, but the case is made of very strong and resilient materials) or else it will rock back and forth or tip over. The other weak point of this case is that the iPad is held in by friction alone. In the landscape position, the "slip in" side of the case is on the bottom, and my iPad slips down- just a millimeter or two, but enough so that accessing the controls on the side is a pain.
Overall, while not perfect, I think that this is the best made folio style case out there. While not offering as many viewing positions, it'll keep your iPad much safer and last much longer than other cases which might be comparable or superior in design but which will degrade after a month or two of all the folding required of these folios.
