High price but sturdy, October 28, 2006

Before I bought this case, I read all the reviews of various cases and sleeves. I noticed that a lot of reviews were about complaints regarding the zipper scratching the Macbook. Personally, I don't care. If you use your Mac it's gonna get scratched sooner or later. It's made to be scratched. As for the Booq Viper XS2 - I simply bought it because of a) the sturdy hard shell and b) I thought it has the coolest look of 'em all. The only minus is the price. For $60 I expected some sort of padding. For this price they could have added a 3-mm foam layer lining the inside. Otherwise no complaints. I still would have bought it.

Booq rocks, October 29, 2006

This is the case par excellence for the MacBook. I purchased one of the new 13" MacBooks (Intel chip) in white and it is nice to have a case that I know will keep it protected. The case's perfect fit and good looks don't hurt, either!

Nice...but not worth the price, October 11, 2008
This review is from: Vyper XS2 (Electronics)
My search for a MacBook sleeve began with finding many neprene sleeves. I felt the flimsyness of the neoprene sleeves would serve no protection for my MacBook as it could still get crushed and banged around. So I did a search for a great laptop sleeve to protect my baby.
I found this one, which sounded amazing. Ballistic tested nylon, padded interior, shock resistant, etc.
But then I got in the mail, and opened to find that it is only SLIGHTLY better than a neoprine case. It feels like adding peices of good quality cardboard (the kind used for refridgerators) to the sides of my macbook and then taping it around. That is the only protection if seems like it would take.
Now I have banged my laptop around several times in my backpack with this case being used...and it still works. But I was expecting something with a definitive "hard shell." And this is not it.
The pictures are a bit deceiving in how it makes it appear that your MacBook will be resting on a pillow-padded interior. It is just a fuzzy material to keep it from scratching, and that is it.
Basically, I spent $55 on an item that is only worth $30.
PROS: Better than a neoprene sleeve, looks nice and sleek.
CONS: Noth worth $55, deceiving in its descriptionn.
SUMMARY: I would suggest looking at other "hardshell sleeves" before considering this one. Like I said, it is better than a neoprene and will provide more shock/banging around protection. But not the type you would believe from the description and pictures.
