This unit was used by a rep of the super-reliable American Automobile Association (AAA) to jump start my 2004 Toyota Sienna in one minute flat late on a Sunday afternoon after I failed to start the vehicle (a) with a 450 AMP booster purchased from a discount warehouse, (b) with a lesser capacity Black & Decker unit, and (c) with booster cables connected to a nearby car. While I thought I had done everything possible to protect against such a situation (and the battery was a 1 year 10-month Sears DieHard), nothing worked until AAA showed up with the Clore ES5000. Since I cannot afford to have this happen in a remote location such as Northern Wisconsin where I have a summer cottage, I immediately ordered one. Hope my experience (and yours) is the same as that of the AAA rep.

I bought this from Amazon, and I have not been disapointed.

1. You can leave it plugged in all the time, no worry about overcharging and ruining the battery.
2. I jumped 7 cars off one charge, then used it as the car battery to get a car home.
3. Plug in other stuff with the DC12v plug.
4. Not too heavy, and very portable.

This is essentially the same booster pack that Century made about 5 years ago, just bigger. My Century pack (ES2500) has worked well the times I have needed it. The only problem with the Century pack is during cold weather the charging lights will come on when pushing the test button and stay on. (I just don't push the button anymore during the winter unless I plan on charging it). They don't draw much voltage (they were on for over two weeks before I saw them and the pack was still almost fully charged). The new pack hasn't done that to me yet. My Century pack has started 4 cylinder cars with the temps hitting 10 degrees below Farenheit.

This new and bigger pack is heavier but very similar in every other way. I bought this one to be sure that I could jump my 8 cylinder pickup. I never tried the old pack on the bigger motor.

I wanted this Booster Pack for my truck and then put the old one in my wife's car. I just charge the packs about every 4-5 months and have never had a problem. I combined this with a small 12 volt air compressor to keep in each vehicle to be as ready as I can during my drives with the military.

I own a used car dealership and have used these booster pacs for about 10 years now. They are by far the best and longest lasting. I use them on a daily basis and they can take a real beating but after they get dropped a 100 times the plastic case will crack and eventually break apart. I never had to replace one because of a bad battery though, even after several years. I also like the slim desing unlike those big bulky ones with all the extra gadgets. Dont waste your money on those, they are cheap quality and the battey on it is like using a couple of AA batteries to start a car.

Being fair I have had several types of battery boosters and this one is by far the best one for the money I've ever used . Portable easy to use and capable of starting my Dead F-450 6.0 twin battery diesel truck when jumpers a good battery charger and my old battery Booster couldn't . Best part I didn't by new battery for over a week and jumped the truck off at least 6 times without charging the Battery Booster Impresive by Any standards .

This item is top notch. I use it to jump start salvage vehicles everyday. I used it today to start a 2004 Ford Expedition, two 08 Prius's, three Yaris's and the booster still showed full charge. This thing is a monster. I really like it and highly recommend it.

I hadn't driven my vehicle for 2 weeks, just left it sitting in the hot, hot sun. When I was ready for it, I found that my vehicle had flat lined, and no charge from any one else's vehicle would bring it back. Someone asked me if I had AAA, and I remembered the card gathering dust in my wallet.

The AAA dude showed up smiling with this portable thing in hand, he clamped it, turned it on and brought Lazarus back from the dead with a roar in 30 seconds. I rode up the coast to charge it full, and my battery was fine.

He advised me to turn off all non-essential things in my vehicle that were sapping juice from my battery when my vehicle is not in use for long periods: turn interior light switches to off (overhead, glove compartment, etc.)

I asked him where he got the Booster Pac and he said Pep Boys. I looked it up on Amazon, and voila:)

This booster pack was a recommended by a friend of mine over 5 years ago. He told me it will start up over 20 cars in his dealership during the winter. After purchasing a booster pack, it is as strong as the day I recieved it. I drain and recharge the unit twice per year and this seems to keep it working well. This booster pack is made for work so it doesnt have extra lights and power outlets like some others. Century also makes a larger unit for commercial trucks if you need the extra power.

I travel alot with my kids for sports. Battery dies at least once a year...I won't go anywhere without the battery charger. Everyone should have one on hand.

When my friend ran the battery in her Honda Pilot down to nothing while tailgating last summer, other cars and a different standalone jumper weren't able to get it started. This is the battery pack the tow truck driver used, and it worked fine. If you have a large vehicle, this is well worth the money of getting just in case.
