After evaluating this product, I have to give it 4 stars. Its not perfect but VERY close to it. It will easily outperform most over the counter contact cleaners on the market, and I've tried a whole bunch of them. One of the key tests of a good contact cleaner is to use it on LED flashlights and see how long it lasts (the stable beam of light) over several weeks. Well its the only product I've used that has held up so far. Everything else starts to cause a annoying flicker after a couple of days. I cannot give it 5 stars, since it does not fully hold up 100%. Although the LED light still flickers, it is only minimal (can only be seen by discriminating eyes). I have yet to try it TV coax, but I suspect it will work well there too. Would I recommend anyone to buy it ? Absolutely !!! I know I will as soon as my limited stock runs out. I wish the price was less though. Good overall stuff. Warning - do not apply generously on PC RAM modules. Make sure you wipe it off as much as possible. It appears to be electrically conductive. So if you leave it wet on RAM it may short circuit the module - it almost happened to me. After I wiped it off, the RAM module started to work again like new.

Update as of Feb 22, 2012: Been monitoring the LED flashlight to see if it still holds a steady beam, and guess what ? It still does. Changed the 4 stars to five, its the only product that I have ever used that can do that (And I have tried a large number of cleaner products). Good stuff, a bit pricey though. Beware the brush applicator is not the best thing to use, since it contaminates the chemical when reinserted back after use. Best used with Q-TIPS (cotton buds), and remove the cotton part (by cutting it off at both ends, and then only using the tube as a dropper (straw-like) instead, and then discard when done - no contamination.

I'm an electrical engineer and for over 30 years I have relied on Deoxit for cleaning, rejuvenating, lubricating and protecting electrical connections. It is very close to being magical - cleaning noisy switches, intermittent relays, and potentiometers (volume controls). Once applied, you will get many more years of additional service.

Craig (aka Hosa/the name of their distributor) Deoxit is the very best electrical contact cleaner available and it also improves electrical performance and protects contacts for years to come. However Craig makes a dizzing array of cleaners/contact shields so their products are rarely used by non-professionals. Yet, for decades, these products have been and remain the platinum standard for cleaning/improving/lubricating and protecting any type of electrical connection. Often these products seem almost magical in their ability to rejuvenate switches, relays, potentiometers (volume controls), etc

Despite a confusing array of products their most universal product is what Craig or Hosa (Craig's distributor) calls its D5 series. If you see D5 in the product number you've likely got the most appropriate product! In fact, a D5 series cleaner is required for any connection that is NOT new or already perfectly clean.

The most universal product is a DeOxit D5 series SPRAY. It cleans contacts, flushes away the garbage, lubricates and leaves behind a protective coating that improves the electrical connection and also protects it for years to come.

The only problem I have with the brush on version is that it is rare that you can actually get to the contacts of whatever you are working on. The spray-on version eliminates that problem

Highly recommended!

I was getting very poor AM radio reception in my car, even after having a brand new Alpine head unit installed. The installer checked the AM antenna connections and everything looked good, so they basically sent me away explaining that car manufacturers often sacrifice AM radio reception for looks these days and there wasn't much they could do.

I researched the Bimmerfest forums and found that DeoxIT was recommended to remove corrosion and improve connectivity. I went back to the installer and asked if I could apply DeoxIT to the all the antenna cable connections as they checked them (now for a third time). I was completely blown away with the results: I'm getting HD AM reception in areas where I barely received regular AM before (and all of the awful howling noise is gone). AM radio honestly sounds better than it ever did, with the same car, same stereo and same wiring.

I wasn't going to spend a lot of money trying to fix a problem with AM radio, but I like listening to news, weather, traffic, etc. once in awhile. At first, I thought this very small bottle of DeoxIT was expensive, but it's actually quite cheap. I used maybe 10 drops out of the bottle, and the website shows that it will last for approx. 500 applications, or probably the next 10 years!

I'll make this quick and to the point: Caig Laboratories makes products to keep your audio/video/digital world free of performance robbing oxidation. Use it, or lose it (your uncompromised connection, that is).

I bought this because I own a vacuum tube amp and I like to clean the tube pins every so often. For this and other applications, it seems to remove tarnish on electrical connections well.
