More About the Author

When I got into my mid 30's I noticed that I lost a lot of my energy and zest. I was moody, tired and not really enjoying life that much. Little did I know, it had a LOT to do with what I was eating. Once I discovered that you really are what you eat, I started a lifelong journey in studying different foods, herbs and spices and how they could improve your health. My books are a culmination of what I have learned through study as well as trial and error. I have written them for you in the hopes that you, too, can improve your health and enjoy life more simply by eating delicious and healthy food!

This book has great information regarding food choices and what they can mean to your body. You can vastly improve your health armed with the right information and this book is loaded with it. I just finished my grocery list and will add these wonderful suggestions to our menu starting today. I especially want to add those "special potatoes" to our menu. The Asparagus Soup will be served tonight. Baby Boomers - grab this one and use it. We need all the help we can get when it comes to improving our mood and memory.

This handy reference describes 15 healthful foods that also have a positive effect on your moods. Personally, I was glad to see chocolate on the list because even thinking about eating chocolate puts me in a better mood! ;o)

But chocolate doesn't improve your mood just because it tastes delicious. (That's just a nice side benefit.)
Some of the foods listed here may be surprising, but the author explains the science behind how and why these foods affect how you feel. Each food description is followed by links to recipes in the book that include that food.

Not only is the information good, the book is well-written, nicely formatted and easy to navigate. There is a linked table of contents along with the previously mentioned links from each section to the related recipes.

It was good to discover that my diet already includes several good-mood foods, and I now know of several more that I will be sure to incorporate in my meals and snacks.

As someone who has been on a quest to lose weight and get healthy, I'm always interested in getting new ideas. Very happy with this book and have at least 5 new recipes I want to try asap. Been really on a smoothie kick lately so the Avocado Brazil Nut Banana Smoothie tops my list. Great info and inspiration for being even more mindful of the kinds of food that will really add to my new healthier lifestyle.

I eat a lot of the foods listed in this book, but in their natural state or in the slow cooker (i.e. beans). I'm excited to now have actual recipes to use with the foods. The author clearly explains each mood food and the science behind its mood altering properties. I especially like that right after each food is listed and explained, the author has provided links to the corresponding recipes. Nicely done and highly recommended.
