Great for Reluctant Riders or Special Needs Children,
By A.M. "A.M." (Tennessee) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Boot Scoot Zoomer Balance Bike Sky Blue (Misc.)
My 3 year old had no interest in riding a bike until he got his Boot Scoot. With no pedals to hurt his legs when he fell, it was easy to encourage him to get up and try again. He quickly felt like he was riding a real bike and this motivates him to keep riding.
We are also using the Boot Scoot with our 5 year old, who has Down Syndrome & Autism. It's been a great way for her to gain strength, confidence, and a feeling of independence. We take it to therapy and her Physical Therapist works with her on riding it. All kids need success to motivate them, and the Boot Scoot makes it easy for children to succeed at riding a two wheeled bike. Tip: start using the Boot Scoot indoors if you have carpet. The falls are more gentle, and the drag of the carpet makes it easier for the kids to control the steering and front wheel. Once they seem comfortable handling the Boot Scoot, move it outside.
