5.0 out of 5 stars good graphics and is what you expect November 3, 2012

It is exactly what it says and is done well. Wasn't expecting 3D graphics, which look good. Runs well on original kindle fire. Best of all, no permissions required.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Rendition of Classic Breakout August 7, 2012
Verified Purchase
I do not automatically give 5 stars simply because I really enjoy a game. This game gets 5 because it works well. It is responsive with NO lag on my Kindle Fire. It is fun. It is graphically pleasing. And it keeps me coming back for more.

Make sure you try the free version to test out the responsiveness of the paddle on you device. A small caveat. I have to pause the game at times in order to clean my screen to regain fluid movement of the paddle. This is not a problem with the game. It is a problem with the sweat from my finger.

If you are looking for a great Breakout game, this is it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun Game November 3, 2012

Very fun game that works great on my Asus tablet. Colorful graphics and smooth play. I loved the old arcade games so this is right up my alley.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent breakout game November 2, 2012
Verified Purchase
The game may look like a amateurish game on the surface its actually well done. I actually found myself liking it. No permissions at all, basic sound, and decent graphics with some neat game play elements. There are probably better breakout games but this is a good contender to keep on your device.

4.0 out of 5 stars zero permissions, keeper November 3, 2012

Torn between 4 and 5 stars, Samsung galaxy SII finger control bounce bar lags- takes away a funness star. The serious lack of permission actually redeems a star. Love the retro /new tech mix

4.0 out of 5 stars good time waster game November 3, 2012
By kat

I used to play breakout all the time so this was a nice surprise. this game is simple and to the point - I had issues with how the paddle and ball interacted - hitting it on the side of the paddle always sent ball down, used to be a good way to save it in breakout. the backgrounds at the higher levels were distracting and made playing more difficult - especially since it made light glare off the screen more apparent - I also found that the tip of my finger got irritated being dragged back and forth and had to switch which invariably caused me to lose the ball - I would prefer side controls (thumb controls) as an option, it would make the bigger screens of the kindle and tablets a bit less painful! I miss the musical tones of breakout as well - the sound although perfectly functional was not inspiring. I would pay .99 for this game as it overall was a good experience - fun - and something I can go back to when you want to play a game that doesn't make you think.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Breakout Implementation! November 3, 2012
Verified Purchase
It seems a little silly being impressed over something as simple as Breakout, but that's the case here. The graphics are surprisingly good with a subtle, 3D perspective. Also, thanks to the nice graphics, the behavior of the power-ups (and power-downs) are obvious, which isn't usually the case with Breakout clones. The controls work well, with a small strip along the bottom where you can slide your thumb without it getting in the way of the action. This strip also indicates the currently-active power-ups and your remaining lives. The animation is nice and fluid. Even with seven simultaneous balls flying around the screen (thanks to power-ups), the speed and frame rate remained smooth and constant. Sound effects are adequate and can be disabled directly within the game at any time.

In short, this is a great Breakout implementation with excellent graphics, smooth gameplay, and zero permissions. If you like Breakout, I highly recommend it!

3.0 out of 5 stars Simple But Fun November 20, 2012
Verified Purchase
Nothing spectacular here. Graphics are decent, animation is smooth, game play speed - good. I've looked extensively for a good "breakout" type game. This one isn't great, but it is the best I've found and since it was a FAOTD, the price was perfect!

This one does have items that you can catch which makes things happen (paddle longer or shorter, multiple balls at once, slow the ball down, etc).

I'd have given it a 4 or 5 if it had better graphics and more goodies falling (i.e. bullets, etc).

Fun game with endless levels. Sometimes the color combos are hard on the eyes, but that is part of the challenge.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun game
My kids loved this game. But just like any other video game or toy it got old and they quit playing with it. But it was a fun game for a couple of months

2.0 out of 5 stars I deleted it.
I thought this was going to be a blast from the past - I remember the old original Atari game, breaking through a brick wall with the bouncing ball. That was fun. This was boring.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not so great on a tablet
You have your finger on the paddle and it interferes with your aim. Sometimes the paddle loses connection with your finger. Not much fun.
