Great portable crate.,
This review is from: Boots & Barkley® Large Pop Open Dog Kennel (Misc.)
I use this kennel to transport my puppy (Bernese Mtn Dog) to and from work in my car and to keep him in my office (he is crate training). It has worked great. At home, it is his "play pen" and I leave the zipper open while he runs in and out of it playing with his toys. He has taken it upon himself to store ALL his toys in there.
At first, he was reluctant about being inside the crate and used his paws complete with sharp puppy claws to try to force himself out. He also tried to chew on the outer edges and find the zipper to open it. With proper training and patience, he now knows it's his "home" and respects it. No damage was done to the crate from his fits. I don't leave him in this crate unsupervised for more than 15 minutes so I cannot attest to how it will hold up during frustrating periods (he has a heavy duty night crate in his bedroom which he does dig at during the night when playing with his Kong). Right now, he has plenty of space for his toys and a bed and mostly sleeps in it. As previously mentioned, in the car, it keeps him put, but I don't use the seatbelt loops since it is a little big for strapping in lengthwise and didn't bother trying. I can't seem to fold it back to its original small round size, but I can easily fold it flat, which makes it easy to carry and store. It's not a permanent crate for him. It's a temporary spot for him to be safe during the day and properly potty train.

We use a car sharing service that requires dogs to be kept in a carrier when they are in the car.
Np problem. This fits in my backpack. Me and the dog walk to pick up a car, fold the backseat flat; in goes the crate, in goes the dog. Return the car; fold up the crate, lint roll whatever dog hair the crate did not contain. Everyone is happy. The problems, which aren't really problems, are: Learning to collapse the crate is weird, once you learn how and have done it a few times it's easy...but not intuitive. Don't lose the instructions. The material is slippery so if you use the crate in the car, the dog will slide in turns. Oh, and when you take the dog to swim in the ocean, if the material is exposed to saltwater the red dye will come off on the dog. If your dog is white, like mine, parts of him will be pink for a few days. Which is kinda funny, so maybe that's a feature. Last thing: we have had ours for well over a year, collapsing it and opening it 6-10 times a week, its still in great shape.

Very convenient, but not very sturdy. Also, you need to put something in the bottom as it is just nylon - nothing else.

easy to put up, sometimes it is difficult to fold down. good for travel, but not great for big dogs that move around a lot (kind of flimsy)

This is our second set of houses--the first set lasted for years. Our cats love to be outside in the wilderness (the backyard). We know they are safe and very content to watch the world move around them.

I purchased this pop-up kennel for a trip I recently took. I was flying with my dog and needed a kennel for him to sleep in while we were away from home. We had him sleep in this for about 2 weeks before we left and he had no problems while on the trip. The kennel does what it says it will, it pops up from a very small size. It fit right in our suitcase and was very convenient. Like other reviews stated, is it a little tricky to fold back up, but after a few tries it is possible. I'm definitely happy with this purchase and will continue to use this when traveling!

Exactly what we were looking for.....we take it when we go visiting friends
so our two little ones are confined and we are invited back. :o) We have two pop open kennels and they each have their own at bedtime. They are confined but do not feel isolated. It is perfect for inside but I wouldn't trust it outside without supervision. We fasten the two zipper tabs together with a little clip and then fasten that to the kennel itself so they can't work the zipper open......we learned that. :o)

I needed something for my Husky puppy for in the car. She is crate trained and I already have a 42" metal crate for her but it was a pain to get the metal crate in the SUV and it was suicidal to drive with her in the car without being crated. I was hoping a Large would be big enough for her and it is for now but I think she will soon grow out of it. I also posted a picture of my Chow/Shepard mix. He is to big for the L size crate. I have not used this in the truck yet as I am still getting the puppy used to it but the other review is already in much detail and says it all. Its definitely great for the price. I thought it would help others if I post pics of my dogs in the crate to get a visual of how big it is and then decide on getting this one or the XL size. Definitely great for large puppies and medium size dogs though if they are crate trained already. Shipping was very very very fast from Target through Amazon.

Bought at Target, Returning to Same.,
This review is from: Boots & Barkley® Large Pop Open Dog Kennel (Misc.)
This product is unsafe, plain and simple. We bought the small version of this item for use in the car, but set it up in the house so the dog could get used to it. He uses it for his nap in the morning (voluntary - it's not zipper, he chooses it). This morning he stretched and it collapsed on him, leaving him trapped between two spring-loaded layers. I got him out and folded the crate back into it's bag for return. I hope Target/ Amazon seriously reconsider selling this product.
