Booze Indeed, May 7, 2004
This review is from: Booze: The Drinks Bible for the 21st Century (Paperback)
Despite the decidedly brusque title, this book is one of the best and most comprehensive I've yet to see on fermented beverages. Don't have a clue about wine? Absolutely everything will be explained in clear, concise and understandable terms. And I do mean everything -- just a quick skim through and I catch a glimpe of wine aging peaks to bottle and cork types and label terminology spelled out.
Each essential liquor is fully explicated (how they are made, etc.) and brand names broken down so you know from whence they hail and what level of quality they provide.
Beers, cocktails and even absinthe are not spared a complete run down by the author. If you want to know everything about booze, or you already know a good deal and want a complete reference for your library, this is an absolutely stellar guide!
