Awesome---Greg tears it up!, August 14, 2000

This is an incredible album...the only way to describe it is it just sounds so "blue note." Greg's take on the bop era is amazing; his sound is classic bebop saxophone, yet he drives the tunes into new directions that are of course necessary to keep the music young. His own compositions are daring and traditional in that they are uniquely his, yet could fit in well with the other bebop tunes from the generation previous. Having performed with Greg, I can tell you that his playing is highly emotional; this CD will reward you with climaxes and resolutions, exciting upbeat tunes and beautiful ballads. Bop Lives! is awesome, and I more than highly recommend it.
